Will turn 48 this year, been playing PacWar/UV/WitP since...forever I guess.

I'm the same as John, but skipped UV. Started my addiction at 12 playing Avalon Hill board games.

EDIT: Damn, old age must be getting to me...just did the math and will only be 47 this year.

I also cut my teeth on AH and SPI games in the 70s. Afrika Corps anyone? I still play Advanced Squad Leader about once a month or so. I think Victory in the Pacific and Flat Top are some of the main reasons I like WitP so much.

Children, children everywhere.

61 - reckon I must be one of the few grownups playing this game. Gotta get back to my legos now.

That happens when you spend too much time with teenage hockey players.

Pre-teens, but I agree. I'm a bad influence on them. [:D]

Mynok is 725 or is it 726?
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

I'm 37.

Does my 3 year old son count as a player?  He loves the opening movie, and always wants me to click on the planes and ship info screens (for the pictures).

He cheers when a bomb hits one of Bilbow's ships during the replay (unfortunately, that doesn't happen often enough!).

He can even reconize a P-51.

Atta boy!

Thats what we need, more childern to educate. I did with my 24 year old, not too sure if he still plays much but then he doesn't need to as he has job controling a remote maintance sub. Real life simulation.

I even tried my daughter but she said in a most lady like way 'I'm not interested dad'.

It is a rarity to find a teen playing WitP, but what would REALLY shock me would be a female player.
I believe there is 1

LOL, my sons (almost 4 and 2.5 resp.) always want to watch the ships and planes as well.

An often-heard comment is 'Papa, why does your ship smoke?' - I'm playing the Japanese in May 43 and Allied bombers and subs start to take their toll on my shipping...

They cannot recognize aircraft types yet, but the favorite shirt of my older one is adorned with a print of a Spitfire - that's promising (I remember my favorite shirt at that age showed a P-51 - the 'Old Crow').

I'm 34 btw.
