In the meantime ... MOVE the 37mmPack36_512.dds into the SD KFZ 251 folder.

This should work.... let me know if it doesn't.

Still no luck, version 5 don't works and I have copied the 37mmPack36_512.dds in both the folders, SdKfz 251 and SdKfz 251_10... I am sure the problem is in my pc (but I have a fresh install) because the same version works perfectly on my laptop.

JMass,

One last stab ... What happens if you copy the NORMAL.BMP from the PAK36 directory into the 251_10 directory?

Just a guess. My last attempt would be to make a BMP out of the DDS and place that into your _10 directory.

Otherwise it must be some odd setting in your video card ... I don't know [&:]

sd Kfz 251/10

I finally looked at this to see if I could find a problem. There was some reversing going on and I flipped it using polytrans.
I also made some changes in the years of service and points. Though Erik, has the official points calculator I just eye balled it.
And added a Late version which uses the Stielgranate 41 stick bomb.
I left the MG42 on but I think they removed the forward one with the gunshield and only had the rear one which the squad takes with them when they dismount.

Also, as far as names go it is better to leave the underlines off the internal German names but they are fine for file names.

Thanks Mobius! I reversed the polygons before but I guess it just did work for me ... I'm glad it was something simply ... The worse part was it looked fine on my machine and not on Jmass' .... that's what drove me crazy.

Anyway ... thanks for your updated information.

With regards to the MG ... Yeah, to make the whole model properly I would have had to redo the whole thing and put the 37mm on the body (firing points and all) and make the MG on a post and call it a turret that can rotate 360 degrees ... but ... since we can only have one target and the vehicles like to "face" the target it would have been fruitless to make such a change ... It would look correct but not act correct.

I'm at work so I can't check the stats ... Did you change the purchase cost at all? I left the original 10 points I think ... same as the 250 transport.

JMass,

Thank goodness it works ... I should have asked these guys a long time ago to have a look.

Unfortunately, there is no winter DDS for the 37mm AT gun that I could find.

I think I made it 15 or 16 points. Much like a Russian AC. The Pak 35/36 alone is 22 pts. But that has a ROF of 10 and is pretty small. I gave it a ROF of 7 because I don't think you had a 3 man crew manning it (maybe there were).

I think the endservice could be 03/43 for the 251/10 37mm/L45 without the stick bomb. Then start up the "Late" at 1/43. Which I now think I should have called the Sd Kfz 251/10 Ausf D to correspond with the introduction of the stick bomb.

20 pts. is a lot to pay for something that tends to explode with a couple of hits from a Russian AT rifle.

If they get rid of the "over penetration" rule in the next installment the halftracks won't be such gasoline bombs.

======
According to that You tube "brit documentary" I keep finding, D hull type is begun in Sept '43.

{!! Edit --That link is dead already. When you get there, copy and paste "schutzenpanzerwagen-sdkfz-251" into the search. (250s will be there abouts too.)}
```````````````
[I keep calling it Brit because of his accent but he says '33 MPH' and 'three to five _miles_ per gallon'. Do they say that commonly in Britain still?]
Since the C type was started in mid 40 through to Sept 43, we have to rely on the introduction of the ammo type for our stick-grenade entry date here.
------------
As for the 251/10 points, isn't it the Ko command vehicle? Ie 1 to a company of ca15 assorted HTs, most being /1 types (plain)? Meaning the RBG might have more than one show up in an RG Battle. I don't know: just asking.
[EDIT CORRECTION-- The /10 was pltn vehicle: ie 3 to company.]
By the way, in '44 Patton outlawed putting sand bags etc on tanks saying that it made the them more vulnerbale to "shape charges". I assumed a shape charge was a "fabrashe[sp] egg-like shell that had breakable outer parts and tougher penetrating inner parts. Is the "sticky grenade" that 'shape charge'?
Well, we have a more accurate date then what I have. I just have 1943.
I don't think so as the glue is on the sides. The Hafthohlladung and all the German hand mines are shape charges and have a business end that has to go against the tank armor.
