Don't forget the upcoming Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition, which looks set to be one of the most exciting Napoleonic releases in years.

That's all fine for 2009, but is there still a Matrix cat in the bag for 2008 I wonder ? [;)]

Greetz,

It would be a wonderful thing if it popped out of the Matrix oven a day or two before Christmas.....But I assume that bundle of joy is a 2009 delivery

COG:EE absolutely cannot come out in the waning days of 2008. The good news, though, is that we do have those ship graphics, and it won't be too long before I can start showing them to you.

There all sort of wargames or strategy-games I would like to buy, but when do they get released ??
Take WIF , how many years more ?? I think thet are working on it for 5 years now, it will be old by the time it is finished, if it will be finished !! There is no news for almost a year now.
And WitP-AE was scheduled for last year, now no more news about release-dates , sounds pretty scary if you ask me.
Lets hope folks (and if somebody know some release-dates let me know too)

WitP-AE is my biggest focus, I might check out Bombing the Reich if I have some extra shekels.

wishlist
A mech based tactical turn based wargame (like battletech)
MegaMek, MekWars, and Titans of Steel [:D]
A fantasy or SciFi based tactical turn based wargame
Battle for Wesnoth, and I'm sure there are others
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

There is not much info yet given the imminent release of CoG EE.

I may consider to pick it up as I don't own any napoleonic era game so far, but would like to gain more insight into economy, building options, logistics, diplomacy and how this title compare to FoF. The two beta AAR's are not meaningful regarding this points and after all I'm primarily interested in the strategy aspect.

As soon as a release date is known, we'll start to focus more on this sort of thing. Also, we'll have a series of video tutorials covering every aspect of the game, adding up to roughly 25-30 minutes, as well as two promotional videos. That should all give you an excellent idea of what the game is like.

Actually, Elemental's not coming out until 2010, unless of course you preordered, in which case you get to be part of the beta next year.

From Elementals website;

It's using a combination of SecuROM and Starforce so that the game will require a CD in the drive, a USB key to be inserted and the reading of a particular word on a particular page of the user manual (which won't be hard since it'll only have a 2 page manual naturally).

The docs, which we expect to be written by fans, will be online only which will be fine since the game will require players to be on-line at all times due to the by-the-hour activation checks the game makes to the single player mode.

[X(] [:-] Also, the game won't work if you have any CD-ROM burning software including the built in media player software (users will naturally need to uninstall any media players including iTunes in order to play). [X(] [:-] WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!

All of this will be integrated into the game by our eastern-european CD manufacturer (the copy we send there will be completely clean of course) so we're confident that no pirates will get it...
