Looking real nice indeed! Thx for the effort.
Question springs to mind, can the railroad be destroyed?

Err... no. It's just a different type of "road" that trains can travel on.

but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

I've double checked with Vic about that before. In AT, roads cannot be destroyed.
Maybe in the next version? I hope.

Is there any way I can load a saved game with the previous version into this scenario version? I have already conquered France and don't feel like restarting from scratch.[&:]

I think we've all had that desire many times Henri. I know I have. Unfortunately, the way AT is designed, which helps with multiplayer games not cheating, doesn't allow taking a game from one version and using it in another that.
If you're thinking of restarting using WaW Revised, let me know, I just moments ago fixed a minor problem with Poland if you're using AI for the West.

Revised version is just lacking a new Briefing at this point, but I haven't had any problems with playability in all testing up to this time.

It will be intersting to see how Japan plays in this new version.

I have played WAW only two times in pbem. Both times I have taken Japan and have not been very happy with it.

As Grymme has written in another thread it is possible to beat China, but I guess it takes an expert in AT to do so. I am not, and therefore have much trouble with China as opponent. The main problem is, that China has much rifle, sitting in the mountains, where they are difficult to attack. Especially at the eastern Chinese border they can use a river as natural defence line. Japanese units will have to cross the river and enter the mountains if they want to attack.

So, both times I got really frustrated and therefore made the suggestion that it is better to play Japan together with Germany (like playing China together with Russia), to have some interesting fights as German player and be not so much frustrated about the situation on the Japanese side.

Maybe you have an idea how to make Japan playable in a better way, so even someone who is not an expert may enjoy playing this nation. It is difficult enough to manage the supply situation while fighting for the pacific islands. And as USA comes up with its strong naval forces Japan has trouble enough. Therefore I think Japan should have the possibility to for an easier start on the Asien continent.

As I have to improve my way of playing Japan and hope to take some profite of the last two games I would like to see how Japan plays in a pbem in the new version. If you want someone to test, let me know. [;)]

Rufus & 82nd -

Current version is 1f Beta, posted 3/28/09.
The AI issue reported by Mikeeboy was due to Screenshots being on AND AI on, and happens in all WaW's. Vic's going to work on that.
I continue to make little refinements and testing, and when I get several of them, I post a new version in the sandbox.

I haven't found any game breakers/ big imbalances yet, so please play it and give me feedback on what you find.

Rufus- JA is the regime I have the least playtesting info on. I have given it historical OOB for navy, and I'm afraid it will be TOO strong because of that, substituted sub Level II for Heavy Infantry Level II. THat seemed more historically accurate. I know from experience JA can defeat CHina. (and 82nd has done so against my best Chinese defense!) Use mortars and stick to the roads. Playing China, I've had opponents come at me from Sian, Chungking, and Kunming. Once one of these is captured, China has very poor supply ability and its a matter of time. Nevertheless, IMHO it should be VERY difficult, to keep it historically plausible. I have NO expectations that in a historical game it should be evenly balanced. That's one of the reasons I put a point system in. Play JA and see how many points you can amass by a certain time, then turn around and trade sides with your opponent and see who did the best!

And with the new scoring system, it's not an all or nothing way to victory, which I think has great possibilities.

82nd: so did you get your computer and are you still on the road?

All who read this post beware!

In WaW Revised, prior to version 1g beta, all resource hexes (Swedish Ore, Kuwait, Borneo, etc...) do not produce for their new owner once captured.
This is fixed in v1g_Beta.
Enless apologies if you began an earlier version.

@82nd-
Way cool you got your new computer!  I was thinking of you and your rig when mine was taking 35 minutes per AI turn when I was trying to figure out the Screenshot + AI Bug.  Took me all weekend.  With your rig it would have probably been hours.
Hope the road is treating you well.

Yes, I created a new Germany Pressures Axis Card to allow the option of bringing Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania in early.  Is that what you were referring to?  I've been doing so much I forget what's what anymore.

Hey I have a question about the scenario. If Axis don't play the 150 pp card to have axis minors enter - will they ever enter by another event automatically or is this card now the only way to bring them in?

Thx

They will enter on their historic dates. Finland won't enter until war with Russia.

i was talking about the suez canal card and sending supply and pp to japan if controled by the axis. But i think its in there now which should help japan be a little more competitive and make the north africa area much more important to fight over.
