Also consider the Battleground Civil war series here at Matrix.I really enjoy Battleground Civil War, just finished a Battle of Chickamauga PBEM game just recently and it was good ol' slug fest.I was playing the union and lost half my men(and the Battle) but I had a blast playing.

years back I had bought "Gettysburg", and found the system OK, but the AI, as most, disappointing though.  Never have found a strategic Civil war game worth anything, but not sure how the Matrix line stacks upas I have not bought any.

If you like the ACW, you really ought to try the games we've got in that category. All of them are excellent and by far the best strategic ACW computer wargames to date IMHO.

Dredd you've beaten a record...you spoke good of all three, recommending all three but telling the guy that what he really wants is FoF. Couldn't you just say: Get FoF? [8D]

Yeah well, it was kinda awkward. By far my fav is Forge of Freedom...IF I want a big sitting. IF I want a light fight, GG WBTS is the option I go for...but the daddy has to be, imo, Forge of Freedom. But the reason I didn't just say that is because he made his mind up between ACW and GG WBTS...so FoF wasn't even there (but deserved a mention).

Have I done it again?[8D]

Yea, the AI may suck, but remeber you can play multiplayer. Its all about playing an online or PBEM game against another human.Trust me, if you try playing a PBEM or online game, its a fantastic game.

I reckon Forge of Freedom looks really good going by the video ad.  You should check it out on YouTube if you haven't already.
