Hi Kwik,
this is an MS certified software downloadable from here:
http://www.superspeed.com/ramdisk.php
It can address RAM outside of what is used by the OS, so even with a 32 bit OS you can use extra memory.
Since DDR2 memory is extra cheap these days I had the fortune to get 8GB Corsair XMS2 1066Mhz (as a WitPer one just have to love this memory maker

) for around 80 USD. Then just install this 6MB software, go to the settings and create a 4GB drive. It is automatically saved to the hard disk on every boot so it does not 'forget' what you install into it.
I'd say it's a nice thing to have but too small to be really useable, though one can still put in one's favourite game. I don't know how much does the Witp ver 1.0 vanilla install take on your PC but to the RAM drive it installed in less than 30 seconds, probably closer to 15.... Game loading times are not that quick compared to a good modern HDD, but still noticable difference. Turn resolution also seems to be fast, though this might very well be because vanilla 1.0 is no match anymore for a modern CPU.
So to put it shortly if you have more than 4GB system memory then it worth a try.
