What Is The Latest ETA?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

well, while I am waiting on them, been running some tests

kind of happy with them to be honest, I or the player should be able to do better, but, the AI is doing decent at least (I fear it is going to have a little twitch feature in it, like I tend to do, it can't keep to the same idea to save it's life !)

but...

XVth is doing good, and the VIIIth is hitting good targets, the 12th is a little strange, since it is tactical, it seems to be going after troops and fields, but leaving targets I think should be hit, alone ? , 2nd Tac and IXth is keeping the V-sites down and messing with the French coast

targets for the VIIIth

the AI don't seem to like to retarget a target after it repairs, or that may be based on the Strat it is working with, but odd to see Hamburg repairing (that is a tricky one, as the player, I don't want to waste planes or men, hitting something that is damaged, but I don't like to see them get rebuilt either ?????)

but overall, looks good

ahhhh, got to love it when a plan starts to work out, even when it is not your plan !

the AI is hammering the OilR, and a number of those are in Hamburg, so what I was whining about earlier, the AI is working on now !!!!

in what may be a good sign, I cleaned my couch up, and moved some 175 books to the book cases

of course, then the freaken glass panel fell out of the good one, and it don't want to fit back in, since there is too much weight inside

HARD SARGE is it possible to have a screen with the actual planes arts and not just the radar box? just curios too see how well they fit in the new map.
I also noticed, cant remember in what post; that the planes proportion in the new version looked much bigger than the old btr but I might be wrong

the plane to the left may look funny, but that is two plane types that are in the same spot when I took the snap, Spits and Mustangs

I am sure you are correct. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it. Did you make any changesto the game over the weekend?

ahhhh

yeap, been working all day, mainly just reseach on pilots and correcting, adding them in

and running tests, writing to Matrix, and to my programmers, trying to reset up one of my testers

my musicplayer playlist lasts for 556 minutes, I have ran it out and am a 3rd of the way though the 2nd run of it

found a STUPID placement error, during my test runs, fixed that, and then restarted the test(the AI was doing good too !!!!)

slipped in some goodies, waiting to see if anybody notices them

Speaking of the AI doing too good, how is the AI in this game? Is it programmed to cheat in order to win? Is it programmed to do production well? Does it have some surprises in it or does it simply follow a script?

should be getting Harley to jump in here, he found and took out one of his old complaints, but over all, as far as I know, the AI does not cheat, it is stuck with the same stuff as the player

it is a much better defender, then attacker, but, it knows what to do

I do want to work on it in more detail, but that will be for later

as in most games, that Gary has worked on, it reacts very good

the AI has beaten me in BoB 1 day campaign (but I am not a great defending player) and I have a HARD time beating it on the training mission for BTR, the long Campaigns, which is what the game is really all about, I can win on the attack, think I can beat the LW in BoB on defence, but will get spanked, I would put up a good fight in BTR on defence, and would spank the AI when on the attack (but, I am a very good off player in BTR)

Good to hear. I like a competitive AI. I don't like a rollover AI. They aren't much fun.
Are the victory conditions the same as they were in the original BOB or BTR?

I notice that there is an Axis airbase on Helgoland.  Will Axis planes now be able to fly out further into the North Sea than was possible in the old BTR?

with in reason, yes, there was a airbase there and a radar station, so they were added (and that took up most of the island)

so, yes, H-land is going to be pain in the side of the Allies trying to sneak though the north

now of course, it is a two edge sword, anything parked there, is really going to be out of range of the main bomber path, but, it should help to keep the Allies honest

ahhhh, next test finally got to D-Day, took awhile, now I can see if got my correction, correct

(really at times, cheat codes would be nice)

looking decent for the AI, score of 41, landing is in place, some of the bench Airfields are showing up, starting to catch up in the loss department
