Requirements to build Rifle Infantry?

Purchased Light Infantry upgrade and still no option to produce Rifle Infantry, so that isnt it:





Next step is to buy a level 8 barracks. My court in Anglia will be done in a few turns and I will put a bunch of development into it so I can get it done within a year or so.

Did something get broken with the patch? I built Rifle Infantry in singleplayer prepatch.

Are you playing the 1792 scenario?

From playing the 1805 scenario as france and britain I thought the rifle infantry requiements were level 7 baracks and the light infantry training upgrade. Plus level 4 courts for lancer.


I started the 1792 scenario as france built level 4 courts in paris and picked the light infantry training upgrade and only lancer show up in the purchase screen in paris.


So I think an upgrade that both britain and france have like skirmisher training??? in the 1805 scenario but don't have in the 1792 scenario is also a requiement for rifle infantry.

Those units look cheap compared to france in 1792-5. My infaltion rate is over 100%[X(]

Actually both france and britain have the skirmisher training upgrade in 1792 also.

I'm totally stumped why it works in the 1805 scenario and not 1792.

Rifle infantry require barracks >=7, and also that the year be >= 1800.  Other units with date requirements:

Prussia can build landwehr after 1813
Austria can build landweh after 1808

I thought this was in the manual, but perhaps it didn't make it in there.  I'll make sure it gets in the in-game help in the next update.

That explains it. The time requirements for Landwehr I do see, but I dont see them for Rifle in the same section. Maybe I missed it in another spot in the documentation or maybe it didnt make it in at all.

As far as I can tell, Rifle infantry requires: barracks>=7 + light infantry training upgrade and lancers requies: barracks>=7 + light infantry training upgrade + courts >=4.

Not sure if LI upgrade is required or not as I havent tested it. The after 1800 requirement was the important part.
