Another interesting feature, now all the reports, ever, are kept. However they will be over written by another game using the same dates.

Alright, turn 3. The transport TF at Aparri gets creamed by various USN and RN types. They know you are coming. Either land somewhere else or send in a CAG first. My transport TF was followed by a CAG but it didn't seem to make any difference. I forgot to take screenies. Sorry.

Beyond that seems we have a lot of klutzes in the IJN:

7.7mm T99 AAMG damaged beyond repair during unload of 40th JAAF AF Bn
Sound Detector (J) lost overboard during unload of 40th JAAF AF Bn

Ooh, ooh, nearly forgot. I watched a ship sink during a surface action. That was nice to see. Except the smoke and flames hung around which was a little bizarre.

The great diaspora of shipping from Manilla has started. Miss Betty caught a few and sent them to sleep with the fishes.

I thought about then but then realised:

a. it's a lot of manual intervention and
b. I don't care that much.

I'm quite sure Andy Mac is aware of this problem and will make changes in the AI script. I just did turn 3 as Allies vs AI using 2 day turns. I lost 5 of 7 DDs (3 British from Hong Kong plus 4 Americans from Manila), but the Aparri transports got roughed up badly.

Possible solution - I think you will need the transports "follow" the CAG. I think one of the main developers wrote that the CAG will go slow enough for the transports to keep up. Another point was to have your BB TF or SC TF be a lower TF number than your transport TF.

Thus, in future invasions form your TF in this order - SC TF, BB TF, MSW TF, ASW TF, and finally your Amphib TF. Any enemy SC TF would have to go through all of these to get to your transports, I think. [;)]

Correct. I posted in the naval thread that the historical setup orders were backwards for AE. You want the SAG going in first. Makes a *huge* difference.

I thought the number dependence was gone, though?
