Play around with the altitude attacks, you'll see some interesting things happen.[:)]

Yeah. Balloons.

Stay above 6k feet over large bases. [;)]

Cool stuff though, might try that out. Maybe strafing happens more then it did, always struck me as vaguely useless.

Pondering some of that, I'm thinking that Japanese player will do the following for med bomber types: Ground, asw, nav search

There aren't any other decent land attack assets, while there are tons of excellent naval attack assets.

If you already have the major skills you desire, do general training.
It's the only way, outside of actual combat, that you can gain skill in air and defense for bombers.[;)]

Ground attack skills come easy by doing actual missions.
I wouldn't train for this unless your pilot skills are less than 30.[;)]

Kamikazes aren't listed as a skill.[;)]

Halsey,

Thanks for all your info and help on pilot training. I have noticed when disbanded to pilot reserve pool that pilots lose base experience (main/combat experience) as much as 6 pts for a 50 exp pilot.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of training rear groups and disbanding to pool?

It seems pretty hard to gain that base experience to begin with (aka successful survived combat missions).

Nope, it's still worth the effort.

So a 69 loses 5, it's still better than a 55.[:D]

Besides, what else are those guys in the rear bases good for anyway.
This'll free them up for some frontline action.[;)]

Also, it helps a player get a handle on the training process.[:)]
