The camouflage on that last one is incredible! Makes it seem as though the ship is invisible.

Funny you should mention those [:D] They are one of the main sources I've been using so far.

Explains why the art looks so accurate[:D]

Did someone say USN camo????

MS12 MOD or MS32/33?

Based on BOS design sheets with a little artistic license on sunk ship classes as a 'what-if'.

I'll leave the Admiralty schemes to Dixie as he is the resident expert to date![&o]

(edit: below are based on Standardized Artwork Set....AE set in conjunction with Big B in the works.)

They are looking very nice as well [&o]. MS21 should be easier to draw [:D]

Ups. So many answers in such a short time. I feel as if I pushed the button for the jack in the box. [:)]

Thanks Gilbert for the link. Very interesting.

I would not believed. There exsist a websit about camouflage on warships. [X(]

Some interesting questions from Mr. Custer above:
Do they were in camo at the start of the war?
Does anybody know approx, when camo started to appear?
I would like to start the war with game supplied ship graphics, then switch to camo on a certain date, when appropriate. Me too! [8|]

1+2) The Allies started changing paint schemes almost as soon as they got into conflict. I think most USN warships were in overall grey at the time of the US entry into the war, although there were also some in overall blue or a blue lower hull with grey upperhull and superstructure. The dazzle type schemes started to be used in 1943 iirc, although I'm pretty sure Tom Label is the expert on the USN camo. The RN had plenty of ships in such schemes in Dec 41.
3) The easiest way to do this (or similar) is to use the editor and find out which art files are assigned to each ship refit. Then download/make an appropriate art set and name it to match the refit.

3) Will there be an automatic -all art mod pack- install routine for dummies once? [8|]

3) Will there be an automatic -all art mod pack- install routine for dummys once? [8|]

There will (hopefully) be a new ship/ship class DB to correspond with the paint schemes based on refit or time period (for dummys like me too!).

To add to what TOMLABEL has said - we have plenty in the offing - including British Royal Navy ... but please be patient.

To give you an idea of the ship art we have in the works - here is a RN Kent Class that we rejected because the camo pattern was unauthenticated ... but the quality will be as good.

Looking awesome! Take your time of of course :)! Do you do all versions of all ship classes or whatg's the method? Cherry picking the more well known camos?

No Cherry-pickin here. I've been working on every USN ship class down to DD. My goal is to take it down to DE but we will see.

I'm doing schemes for each class based on the information from the Ship Camo site for each year. If there are mulitple schemes for a class, then the most widely used during that particular time period is chosen (except for certain classes like Essex, Iowa, etc which will get multiple versions of a particular scheme such as the MS32/33s). For the MS32/33s, I'm using the Bureau Of Ships design sheets. I am also going to try and cover most USN APAs and AKAs.

I can't tell you what B is working on as it is a secret![;)]

Well, the plan was to release right after AE, but we found that we needed to make adjustments to alot of the ship art as presented - hence the delay.
