How nice of the enemy to slow down his advance for Christmas. No major operations or happenings anywhere, just the occasional bombardment in China.
Merry Christmas!

Oh my, we have done a big mistake. TF Enterprise have been out attacking shipping in the Noumea/Rabaul area, now however she is out of fuel and has arrived at Port Moresby where the fuelstocks are....empty [8|]
What is worse, Japanese carriers are in the area.

Well, the Japanese have managed to land a few troops at Koumac earlier in the war, so I ordered some of my transports to land some forces there and take out the Japanese troops.
It was a trap!
Japanese carriers were waiting and sunk alot of transports, the remaining transports are running away after landing a fraction of the 1st Aus Div at Koumac.

Seems the Christmas holiday is over...
The Japanese have invaded the NEI north of Batavia. I have no hope of holding Batavia and will only fight a delaying action in the northern parts of NEI. The main defence will be around Soerebaja from where I can when the time is right, start flying out my troops and slowly get them to Australia to bolster the defences there.

Today we recieved a telegram from the Japanese High Command. The telegram reads;
"Haha we see a carrier at Port Moresby, how much fuel do you have there?".
Later in the day we spot alot of Japanese battleships that appears to be heading towards Port Moresby. BBs on a CV TF is not fair game for the carrier, so we need to get the H*** out of...erm....Port Moresby. Figures now that we have tankers offloading fuel here...

Disaster!
Those battleships from yesterday had atleast one carrier with them, and with TF Enterprise out of fuel the battle was over before it began. Most of the TF was wiped out by aerial attacks, submarines did the rest.

The situation continues to detoriate as several Japanese task forces were spotted today SE of Soerebaja. This is most likely an invasion force with bombardment support as well as the Japanese light carrier force to provide air support. All aerial units in Soerebaja have been ordered to strike at all cost.

Well it was indeed an invasion force we spotted SE of Soerebaja, and the enemy brushes aside our light defences. Today however the major threat does not come from battleships, carriers or ground forces. The biggest losses of the day comes from enemy submarines, and our counter by our ASW units...Well they could have been better.

The start of the new year finally sees our submarines score a working hit again. However the target could have been better chosen.

A big day in terms of events. Our valiant forces takes Baker Island from the Japanese, however Japanese carriers slaughter our transports unloading the 1st Aus Div at Noumea, most likely sealing the fate of Noumea, and more important, Japanese troops capture Port Moresby. The Japanese are now close to cutting the Pacific in two [X(]

A quiet day, so a short summary of the war so far.
*We have lost close to 150 ships of all kinds, most of these around the Philliphines and NEI, included is one carrier.
*Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Moresby, Rabaul and Clark Airfield has fallen.
*Japanese forces are ashore more or less everywhere in ABDA areas.
*Chinese forces are being pushed further and further back.
*The aerial war is actually not going too bad atleast when we only count A2A, Flak and Operational losses.
The main concern is the strong Japanese effort that has pushed us out of most of the areas surrounding Australia, and the fact that Japanese scouts are now flying missions towards Burma and India.

*ooc* the screenshot of the day did not store properly, so it is lost
Nothing much happens, the Japanese are marching on Batavia and Noumea and do chosen attacks in China. In the Philliphines Manilla and Bataan still holds, but it is only a matter of time as our AV keeps going down.

The Japanese forces have now seized the dot-base NW of Noumea. Situation does not look good.

Valuable political points are spent on reassigning leaders in vital areas of China, and it seems to have a bigger impact than I previously thought. Guess this is more important than flying out units at times.

Not a good day for the allies.
First the Japanese capture the base just SE off Soerebaja, and then Kido Butai launches a massive bombing run on Noumea to soften its defences, and a Japanese surface force attacks our transports and their few escorts at Baker Island.
Only bright spot of the day is that we do sink a total of 2 DDs and an AKL by various efforts during the day.
