Something I didn't see in there that's pretty important is altitude settings for units like Dive Bombers. Don't they only dive bomb from certain altitudes and at other altitudes they'll glide bomb?

Thank you very much for compiling this info :)

Sticky status for this thread would be a good thing, along with a sticky compiling other resources documenting or clarifying game features, such as wikis.

Yes, Thats on the Wiki.

http://hc-strategy.com/ae/wiki/index.ph ... =Main_Page

Mission: Bombing

A/c type: DB
(1) Group altitude: 10-15K
A/c are treated as if performing a diving attack
(2) Group altitude: 16-19K
A/c are treated as if performing a glide attack
(3) Group altitude: <1K
A/c are treated as if performing a low level attack
(4) Group altitude: 20+ or 1-9K
A/c are treated as if performing a normal horizontal attack
The attacks are based on altitude flown.

If I had to do it again, I would probably let the player pick an 'attack tactic' which would allow planes to approach target at the group alt but determine the attack alt and bombing type based on the 'attack tactic'.

Diving attacks have a better chance than gliding attacks to make a hit; pilots with good NAVAL_BOMB skills have a better chance. Exit altitude is 1000-4000'. Glide attacks have a better chance than level bombing but not as good as diving attacks to make a hit, but; again better skilled pilots have a better chance. Exit altitude is 2000-5000'.

Really a great job Davbaker.!!
I appreciate at last your method of collecting and classifying all the stuff under the manual index code
so it will be easy when needed to retrieve the informations reading first the manual and successively your notes.
I also would like to see your work as a sticky upgraded in the time.
Many thanks again.

@ davbaker:

Can you reference this thread for post-patch malarial / tropical disease effects being included in the game? This has what I consider to be the final statements on the matter from BigJ62:

tm.asp?m=2307611&mpage=1&key=malaria&#2308335

To summarize: Malarial effects max out at a disruption value of 8, fatigue of ~25. Larger base (port + AF) sizes will decrease the malarial effects by the formulae included herein.

Note: fortification level has no effect on mitigation of tropical diseases.

Thanks Guys,
Feel free to suggest any interesting nuggets to add as you see fit.

Malaria note added.

No problems about reposting/translating any info from my point of view, not sure on any issues re: Matrix etc.

Cheers!
