I'm suddenly unsure if the game extends through 1973 and the Yom Kippur War. If it does, then I'd certainly expect that Chinese Farm would be among the battles included.

Tim

The timeframe covers from 1948 through to 1985.

1973 is definitely included and a number of scenarios depicting the various Chinese Farm battles.

That is precisely what I am looking for, key battles that you, the customer, are expecting to find inside the series. Just to make sure I am covering a lot of bases with the initial release. I appreciate your input, thank you!

Jason Petho

Hi Jason,

Does the above mentioned time frame '48-'85 also mean that all the scenarios for Vol I of Modern Wars are within this time frame? Keep up the good work BTW on the Campaign Series overall.

That is correct.

As of this moment, I have scenarios that fall between 1948 to 1982.

There will be 50 scenarios for each Vietnam and the Middle East. So 100 in total.

I'm probably a little late to this thread but I just wanted to add that I hope there are some Dien Bien Phu scenarios or anything else related to the first Indochina War.

Great! Thanks Jason. Modern Wars is definitely a must-buy for me just based on how great JT: Campaign series was. Count me in as long as the starting price is under $60 for the game.

Is Modern Wars a new game or an expansion?  It seems this and the v1.05 patch are two different things, or what?  I'm looking forward to it, just confused and not finding a good post clarifying the release(s).

The 1.05 UPDATE is an UPDATE for the John Tiller's Campaign Series.

Modern Wars: Volume I is a NEW game that is two games in one: Vietnam and the Middle East, covering conflicts in those regions between 1948 and 1985.

Hope that helps clarify things.

I'm curious. What is the size of your scenario creation/testing team? You're not creating and testing these scenarios all alone, are you? [X(]

I am not volunteering to become a beta tester, BTW. No time.

Just asking.

For Vietnam, Jorge Grillo has created the scenarios dealing with the American involvement in Vietnam. I am producing some that deal with the First and Third Indochina Wars.

For the Middle East, Bob Cummings has provided around 5-6 scenarios to be included and I will be producing the rest. At the moment, there are ~44 stand alone scenarios either ready or presently being tested by myself and the other members of the BETA Brigade. I have ideas for the rest; building the maps and doing the research for them accordingly.

Busy, busy, busy.

The 1.05 UPDATE is an UPDATE for the John Tiller's Campaign Series.

Jason Petho

I know you don't like to give dates... and I understand... but I would think that it is pretty "safe" bet that the 1.05 update "may" be released in 2011 - correct?

Currently, I'm more interested in the 1.05 update and the contents of it. Any details?

I have designed several H2H approved scenarios:

A Deadly Meet (EF)
Plug a Hole! (EF)
Terror on Tarakan (RS)

Will you include these scenarios in the 1.05 update? They currently reside in the Blitz scenario database.
