What's the thing to the right and onother one on the top of the bridge structure.
 
It looks like two round metal bars on a stick. Some kind of (radar) receiver? A sending device even? it looks like they could spin around.

I at first assumed this was a new thread, so when I clicked to read, I started at the top.  I was delighted when I saw my old opponent Q-Ball had contributed...but then I glanced at the date and learned his post was two years back.

I didn't notice the date either. But still a great photo. I'd never seen it before. I thought the Japanese used wooden flight decks like the US, but that doesn't seem to be wood, is it??? Hal
