Can't launch te game

I have got the same problem too, on french version of Vista familial edition. The game also works by changing the display language format. I hope you will quickly succeed to fix this bug[;)]

Got this message up twice so far when first starting the games. However, the game still loads up and plays ok AFAIK.   "Could not load required sound: D:\Matrix Games\Distant Worlds\sounds\effects\ambient1_voice3.wav You may need to reinstall Distant Worlds to resolve the problem"

same problem here with the "unexpected error" it looks to me that the coders were using non-unicode settings for their keyboard language input. I use as default "U.S. english - international" which allows me to use non-american based special characters like ß/ö/ü/ç since i deal with a lot of non-U.S. based correspondents.

This is the FIRST program/game that has issues with that, since the 6 years I'm using the "U.S. - international" keyboard settings - sounds to me the program makers screwed up.

This issue was resolved with the v1.0.2 update, please use the "Check for Updates" on your game menu to install that and everything should be fine.
