What's New - May help people with price increase

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

OK, I have to ask; where was this list a few days ago?  Seeing the lists and the discussions has actually moved me quite a bit towards giving this a shot.

Is this just poor marketing.  I mean, you know you are going to release something at a price point that will shock even your most loyal customers.  And even after release and you get hundreds of posts heatedly discussing the worth of the product, yet no answer to a couple of people asking the same question.

Wouldn't you rather have completely prepared a list to prove to everyone how much work went into this product.

thewood1,

In an ideal world, yes I agree. But keep this in mind, up until last Monday we were working non stop to finish development. I was counting on a few days to rest and then address these matters. But Matrix and Digital River surprised me with an unexpected early release. So there's been no rest and I'm playing catchup. Please be patient.

Dave, I appreciated the time you took to provide me the requested details. After looking at the list, certainly does look impressive and something to defintely advertise or sticky at the top of the page which helps explain this is just more than a simple upgrade.

As for me, it certainly is making me reconsider my original position of not purchasing, plus with all the good feeedback being provided.

Thanks again.

Just two points from somebody who has played the two earlier iterations of the Panther Game engine:

-- First I think the scenarios are more interesting than before (I like tanks on both sides all the time!!) and more important more balanced in the sense that one can enjoy playing both sides - which in theory doubles the playing time
-- Seond I suspect that the AI is more intelligent - a critical factor for me - for example I have noted that it is much more efficient in laying down artillery support (a weak point in earlier games from my judgement), while also sometimes responding in unpredictable ways.

Rather like WitP/AE as mentioned elsewhere this is a game that rewards immersion; you have to like planning and have a degree of patience. If you appreciate that it is an excellent purchase.

Sorry I can't find a new features list; is the one in this thread the best one? Or there is a more complete/updated one?

As far as I am aware the one in this thread is the most complete one available at the moment.

There's always the 'new stuff' sticky thread but I assume everyone has seen that already.

I covered quite a bit of the new stuff you could see in the BFTB Mini-Guide above.
