RE: Australia : Allies, solo.
Interesting AAR. Can you show us a bigger picture of the whole theater?
Have you spent too much on excess infantry units?
And why don't you probe harder on the flanks, where the enemy is beyond the fog of war range? Does he have anything there to stop an evelopment?

I am losing this war just now. I am quite a bit ahead in my actual play, and the Japanese just keep coming. Their airpower is crushing me.
I have not even thought of building a unit, other than the one extra fighter I have managed to build. The game supplies you with a ton of battalions, pretty useless, and I disbanded many of them to get PP. The supply up there, in the northern jungles, is non-existant. The AI is given some pretty powerful help by the system.
As far as I can tell the only activity is right up here, no sign of any other incursion.
I need to get my strategy in order, and try some alternative, but I still am scrambling to save Elliot. The Japanese can make 20 airstrikes a turn, and this pretty much dooms three regiments a turn.

RE: Australia : Allies, solo.
Despite all the game greenery, most of Australia is desert scrub. I'm not surprised supply is a problem. There are hardly any roads to some regions, and back in the 1940's 1 or 2 tracks at best.

RE: Australia : Allies, solo.
The Northern Territory is administered from the State of South Australia for many purposes. In 1939 the main roads certainly were. See http://www.ozroads.com.au/SA/history.htm
Here's a brief overview of the development of the road to Darwin at the time. http://www.anzacday.org.au/history/ww2/bfa/dusty_track.html
And a modern strip map from Alice Springs to Eliot and which can be traced further northwards. http://www.wilmap.com.au/stripmaps/stuart1.html
Now, as then, bring all your own water. (And a shovel to dig your own grave if you let yourself run out of petrol - the locals HATE doing the extra work and none of us like tourists littering up the scrub.) [:D]

From all evidence the supply situation is accurately represented!
