But the aim of the soldiers is way to accurate I feel....however I do feel your not given enough troops in that scenario to complete the mission...

The second time round I did a little better.....had about 6 tanks left to take the village....then one minute later three tanks in a row went up to some sort of heat seeking missiles....

Another problem was my tanks just didn't want to cross the river bed because I had two immobile tanks near to the crossing point...

Maybe the first scenario in the campaign drops you way in at the deep end....a big open space to cross...not enough troops and too fragile infantry...as well as not enough troops in the first place....tanks seem pretty useless against the Russian 75's....even at distance...I feel they become immobile way to quickly...thats some aiming from the distance they are shooting from..

Ok, I picked up Kurusk and Africa ... but where are the manuals? Am I missing something? I checked around on my HD and either missed them or they are not there.

Bring up the Steam client and go to the game's page...over on the right, under the Community stuff you come to Game Details. One of the last liens there is 'View the Manual'. Or, you can go to your Game Library, select any of the ToW games and it will be an option on the far right of the screen.

WHat I love most about Kursk is how it allows you to go through the process of creating a mission, setting parameters, selecting units and loading the game, only to crash and dump me unceremoniously to the desktop right before the play screen....genius [&o]

It definitely takes some getting used to, but it is one lovely game. Some pics and tips to play better at Wargamer: ToW Kursk & Caen

This game blows. No flow to the battles. Its either 100% defend or 100% attack. Compared to Actung panzer where one is always shifting objectives with the changing battlefield situation.

I agree....the only problem with AP was the limited amount of campaigns\scenarios...can't wait the for expansion...it's my favourite RTS game...after trying out Close Combat Again recently I much prefer AP and CC was my all time favourite RTS.

Must be that GTX460 you got cause it doesn't do that with me with my ATI Raedon card. I haven't had a crash on any of the programs so far. Another possibility is sound drivers.

I came to the conclusion I was perhaps a little harsh in my comments. This game does have some merit.

TOW uses dispersion = accuracy model.
