When they are DRM free I will purchase and not until then. You can take that to the bank.

I haven't bought a single game from Battlefront since they started their style of DRM.

I don't blame you a bit. I've avoided all their other stuff due to just that. But when I heard EoS was gonna break away from the mold, I decided tossing $20 at it might lend more incentive, with my show of good faith.

The AI opponents really aren't bad from what I've seen. I guess people just want to limit it's FoW cheating? I don't blame them either, but at least it's a bit of a challenge in the meantime.

Hopefully the DRM gets tossed before long so they get rewarded with more hold-outs becoming customers. [8D]

Patch out (via facebook) and 61 likes.

How does this compare to a game like Axis and Allies? Wego is an interesting twist.

It doesn't. There are no "territories" so there's not much comparison between the two. It's more like RTS style movement/territory in WEGO style with Strategic Command(?) nation management. The editors are very user friendly and you can download/upload modded stuff directly from in-game.

So it's more intricate/involved than A&A by a ways.

"IF" he figures out how to remove BFCs DRM, for $20 I think I would give it a shot.

FB is Facebook. DRM is the BFC online activation.

I see what you are talking about. I guess he's only releasing the DRM free version for new customers.

He makes it sound like it is going out in a email, but wouldn't that be mostly existing owners?

No he has a page on facebook. He can post messages, news, pictures. Most game companies have a page. Depending on the person responsible for posting, you get the news on facebook quicker than on the website. Or if you don't normally visit a company website, you get the news on facebook instead.

Well is it DRM free yet or not? I'm getting confused about who's on first.

I'll let you know if I figure it out. You need to have a facebook account to view what I'm talking about.

The DRM-free version is about to be released, possibly in the next
update (which should come out in about a week). If not then, then
certainly within the next two weeks. So, very soon.

Oops. Do to some mis-coordination, the DRM-free version of the game is now available! Whether you purchase a new copy or update your existing version, you'll have a DRM-free version of the game. Have a good Christmas!

I don't get how BFC would go along with this.

I don't either, but as long as the game is now DRM free. I just downloaded the new update, it's official! No more DRM!

I installed the demo and looked at the tutorial a bit. When it has you gathering crops and buying oil I decided to pass on this one. Not my cup of tea.

I don't understand why game companies release tutorials that don't spell out exactly what you need to do. They always look like they were written by someone who has stared at the screen so long they forget that a first timer doesn't know where anything is.
