Nice idea about the monitoring stations per system Shark7. That gives great
coverage mid to late game for approaching enemy fleets I'd bet. [X(]
Shields are useless in "The Briar Patch"...

And since you can build a monitoring station anywhere, its easy to get good coverage, even in areas that aren't capable of being colonized.
