WITP was the best until AE came out. No going back now. It would be like trying to use Windows 95. [;)]

I thought the inability to delegate theaters to the AI control would make it hard for me to enjoy the game but now that I been playing the battle for the Burma road has turned out to
be quite enjoyable and has expanded my grasp of the Pacific war. Every other change in the game is a definite improvement. Go with AE.

Well, I still got XP so I am only a notch above you. I hate to change. I is like trading in your wife of 25 years for a young woman just because she had gotten a few wrinkles. Say, wait a minute......[:D]

Still have the ole 98 in the basement, and the XP right next to the Vista in the den. I like playing two games at once. The first computers two were work related. The Vista just for SH IV and WitP-AE. Boy if mom saw what I was doing with my money.

Take the plunge... you will not regret it for a single moment!  In regards to "more time-consuming" -- you'll definitely get that, but you'll find it is time well spent with a lot of entertainment in return.  AI is quite alright, though the scripting has reached the limits of what can be done unless some more scripting functionality is implemented in the engine.  In my opinion, the AI works best for the Full campaigns, and Andy Mac has scripted several excellent variants that will give you bloody surprises... And then there is still PBEM for those who can really manage to find the time...

all you need to do is find an old 486 on the side of the road still with 3.1 and your set. I loaded up "X-wing" on it. The Schwartz is still with me. [:D]
