I wish I had scattered the Philippine Constalabury troops across Luzon, as they undoubtably were, instead of having the regiments mobilize en masse in Manila.

If you would care to elaborate, I am all ears (and belly of course).

Whitman ("Bataan") seems to suggest the Constabulary was established in regional/area company sized units, rather than in Regiments, per se. Companies were named after the Province they were organized in (and sometimes after a city). A Constabulary Regiment might be little more than a larger administrative district having 4, 6, or so companies under command. But things changed during the mobilization on Sept. 1. Whitman also seems to suggest that some of the more .. um .. er .. let's say less Aquino oriented provinces, were heavily recruited and offered nice inducements to provide NCO cadre for the forming PA units.

It's like, who knows who was where, and when, and in what strength. All we do know is that a bunch were organized into Regimental sized units and formed into "divisions" during the mobilization in Fall of 1941. We also know that individual companies still abounded, here and there, particularly in Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga and Zambales, that weren't "organized" till after Dec. 23.

It's like trying to catch a greased pig when you are covered in oil yourself. Woof !!

Not me I am afraid. Been looking for years and have only fragmentary data. Company sized units in various cities is correct. One in Aparri, for instance, had the first soldier shot by the Japanese. There were regimental units but they appear to be purely orgnanizational. No actual units of that size. Appear to have been a couple of battalion sized units, especially in "bandit" country in the south.

The 2nd Division consolidated lots of these units on Luzon, but there were local units that were not included. References for PC units on Palawan, Panay, cut off in North Luzon, even on Jolo Island.

Whitman is a good source, Ricardo Trota Jorge another. But I've never found any significant OOB data. There were, from time to time, a lot of references to specific units in "what my Dad did during the war" websites, but those come up and go down all the time. Back in Pacwar days I had contact with a student in Manila with similar interests who provided some data, but it was mostly on the PA, not the PC.

So for AE purposes, just stick a company in every hex and name it for the base in that hex.
