The infamous When Thread, LOL.

Fans of the old Panzer General series rejoice for the release of Panzer Corps. Following in the footsteps of the popular SSI masterpiece and sharing with the General series the same level of engagement and strategic depth, Panzer Corps will keep an unmistakable "PG feeling" whilst improving and refining the gameplay and balance. Panzer Corps will feature 26 scenarios on 21 unique maps, covering most major battles of the European Theatre of World War II and including a few hypothetical 'what if' scenarios based on your actions. Now expanded with a full-war mega-campaign and the Afrika Corps and Allied Corps releases!

I don't believe you played the first two Poland scenario's and found it quite easy

Shrug...
Or you had a ton more prestige or turned off the time limit.

I have never turned off a time limit or anything similar.

Lets just all relax for a second. I guess "hard" and "easy" means different things to different people. My father who I actually introduced to the original PG back in the day reaffirmed to me how difficult PGForever was in relation to the original game. He said it was so difficult to win the Poland scenarios that he just shelved the game and thanked me for trying to get an old game to run easily on his computer. He was the kind of guy that not only poured in hundreds of hours beating the game in various fashions, he 'scientifically' went about determining the optimal way to win somewhere along the way. I remember seeing legal pads filled with notes, numbers, and figures related to the different scenarios. Each time he replayed he would try to beat his 'last attempt'.

Anyhow, just saying. PGForever seemed much more difficult to others and it was a huge turn-off for what we all know as an incredibly awesome and fun game. We don't need to turn a disagreement about what 'hard' is into anything bigger.

The Norway scenario on PGF on hard difficulty made me want to club baby seals when I tried for the first time to overcome it.

OK, I gotta see it. Record it and post it up so I can see how easy it is. It wasn't easy for me and I have alot of experience with PG too. But hey, I could be wrong.

There is a LOG which you can use to re-play back games. I believe I already posted a Poland log over at the PG Central (JP Panzers?) forums ages ago, as it seemed a few other new players were having problems with the Poland campaign.

Here we go, attached is a replay of the Warsaw scenario in Panzer General Forever. Spoiler: I don't think it's a coincidence that we start off with enough Prestige to buy a Tactical Bomber and a Fighter.

If we were to release it now, some of you would find the final campaigns extremely tuff. That may be ok for SOME of you, but not the majority. A little more tweaking of balance and things SHOULD all fall into place.

Of course, that isn't to say 1943 is going to be easy either.

As long as it is not as tough as PGForever. I could hardly get through Poland let alone Norway at all so I ditched the game.

I found PG-Forever quite easy. However, IIRC Allied General in that package got very hard right from the second scenario into it.

LOL. Always people like this, no worries if its easy for him, hes awesome. Move along - nothing to see here.

And we could just as easily say there are always people who complain about games being too hard. Who is right? Who is wrong?

No one is, that's my point. If its too easy, they don't play. If its too hard, they don't play. I trust these guys will get this game about in the center of hard/easy. As for the game in question, anyone who has played them both will say its substantially harder then the original and posting its easy is just - well silly, IMO.

Sure, people will 'complain' about the difficulty level of a game. It is when someone acts like an elitist douchebag when it becomes substantially inappropriate.

No one is being an "elitist douchebag", and there's nothing "silly" about giving personal opinions.

I never said that anybody was being one nor did I deem it silly to voice a personal opinion.

I never said that you said that someone was being an "elitist douchebag". The point is, if no one is being an "elitist douchebag", why bring it up? The "silly" comment was directed to someone else. Without a direct quote, you shouldn't assume that I'm exclusively talking to you.

I will be the sole decision maker over what I should and shouldn't do, not you. Thank you for offering your advice however.

I never said that you were directly replying to me. I responded to your quote by merely pointing out that I was not one of the people you were referring to. You assume incorrectly if you think I was somehow claiming you were asserting that I called someone an elitist doucehbag. Of course, you could have forgotten to use the "quote" key, a reasonable assumption given the circumstances, context of your post, and locality of your reply in reference to mine.

The point is, someone may perceive that someone is being an elitist douchebag, understandable of course reading through a few of these comments so its really not 'silly' to mention it at all.

That being said, please keep an open mind and a polite attitude while you are on the Matrix forums. This is a beautiful community that does not need elitist douchebaggery making it rain. Be sure to read the posts carefully and please do not constantly assume the worst. Life can be so much better when you just relax. :)

Almost the only thing I understand in your post are the meanings of the individual words. Most of everything else is very confusing. But that's OK, this really isn't important enough to argue over. Let's keep this community beautiful.
