Lofty ... and revolutionary? [&o]

I like the idea. It makes randomly wondering through the game folder or Blitz CS ladder dBASE moot.

RR

It does, doesn't it! I would love to have an interface like this to launch a scenario.

ORIGINAL: Ashcloud

I hope you don't think I was aiming for an unfair advantage? I actually only wanted the maps not the unit information. Do you think we should rather have played blind?

Does having access to all this information not detract from the playing blind experience??

No worries Ashley, I was most certainly only joking. Besides, you are doing this in the open so definitively no worries there like I said.

But now that you mention, should we actually decide we have a look at this perhaps at a later stage of the game?

The whole battlefield is still very very confusing... Just the way I like it!

Looks good to me. But is this mainly for playing individual scenarios or can it be used for dynamic and linked campaign games? [&:]

Here is an updated screen shot of the new layout of the scenario interface card. What is new:
Update options that if you have multiple version of CS It will start the scenarion in that version if the scenario is there. Default is 1.04 If you left click on the image of rising sun.

The option buttons allow you to start the scenario in that particular version
We need to come up with a standard way for a multiple insta seat for example
Mine is as follows
Default
C:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\West Front

version 1.02
C:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\West Front 1.02

version 1.03
C:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\West Front 1.03

Information available there looks very comprehensive. What about the scenario search options? That is where the current JTCS menu falls well short of modern user interfaces. What are the options one can look for scenarios: date, meeting types, locations, ...

Have you thought about that? I would guess that if you base this on Crystal reports there should be pretty good tools available for state of art search ui:s.

Sure do but the final product will be pdf since it will port to mac, linux, and PC. The search in PDF is very strong as long as the inedx files are built correctly. As it is now there is a basic search function via PDF. the ultimate goal is to have an interactive Database that will have interfaces etc. All in one if you will. Version 1.0 of the scenario viewer will be PDF for all to use Version 2.0 Will be access. Then if I get real froggy I may ut into oracale base. Any thoughts would be great.

This is for what is available in version 1.04 and version 1.02b (disc/download)?
Or, can you incorporate custom scenarios if you had the information?

The beta testers will get everything so right now it is over 300mb. I am currently looking at getting a website just for this for download. I can incorporate custom scenarios as well in to this format. It will work in 1.02 1.03 or 1.04 with the option buttons. It will work with multiple installs if we can get a standard install, also another option is to install this in the root CS directory in each version and the click the opening panel. This is a very comprehensive undertaking. If a disc is required DVD because of data size then all I ask is rrecompense for the DVD and Postage. That being said it would be a volunteer basis on that. If a person feels like doing good if not that is good too. I have been trying to look at CS in a different light. Using this type of front face the load time, serach time etc is drastically reduced. because you are starting the specific program with a specific file. I have tested this on approx 12 scenarios from each game and 1 each of a user scenario and it works great. from a single install to multiple installs. That is it in a nutshell.

Make sure you will allow the user to add his own background music to the tool! I will only use it if it plays Burning Bridges from Kelly's Heroes as background music
