Several years ago, took a railroad fan trip from New Haven to Poughkeepsie with a friend. The trip featured a tour of the Harmon Shops. To my surprise, my wife wanted to come. So I said "ok,great".

It turns out that she thought the "shops" was some sort of neatsy, cutsy shopping mall, and was most put out when she discovered they were a grubby old engine repair facility.

That cost me some brownie points.

She failed to do her research. You need to take the offensive and point that out to her. Frequently...[:D]

My wife (then fiance') spent 1/2 day at the Red Army Muesem in Moscow, 2007 with me. She was a Major in the USAF(R) as an intel officer. We had fun doing vehicle ID.

Great muesem if you ever get to Moscow.
