In the future, a couple of suggestions for games of this type:

1) If using Supreme Commanders, get the volunteers for SC settled first, then use the dice rolls to determine team members.

2) In lieu of 1 make some subjective ranking of player skill and the top two are the CCs (item 1 is preferable).

The idea above is to try to avoid the top skilled players on the same side. There will be times (have been) where one set of players want to challenge any takers and that is fine. In the case where teams are randomly chosen and the players agree to use a Supreme Commander I believe my suggestion would ensure a better game.

As a side note what I think I'm seeing in recent games is that the ATG community now has some very skilled multi-player players (commanders), i.e. they know how to coordinate a combat command within the ATG game system. Just as the Germans did to the allies in the early war years through superior strategy and tactics, these players in team games are doing to their less coordinated opponents. In any team game, a team that is well coordinated is going to have a distinct advantage over a team that isn't coordinating/cooperating well.

Yea I found it right after I posted that.

From the 1st post it is the northern 3 vs the southern 3, do we have to manually make these alliances and play by them til the end or will there diplomacy? breaking alliances/making new ones etc? just clearing things up.

in any case I offered alliances with the other 2 northerners.

I'm sure there is no diplomacy in this game. It a team game with team victory: top vs bottom.

I did try to suggest this before the game started but cest la vive
After fighting on very well organized and properly coordinated teams, it will feel real odd to be fumbling around by meself.

I have in the past had problems with the PBEM protection saying that I have wiped logs etc. .
I read a recent post regarding this issue and Vic's response. If I have any problems I will have to uninstall and re-install game, so please extend to me your good sufferance in the event and I will clear it up asap.

At this point I don't know who are team members of what team. If someone has this info, please post. Does the filename in Dropbox indicate the turn order/teams? So the three highest rollers are the top team?

The order of factions ingame is the same as turn order.

so it should be:

North:
hatem - Japan
Sail - Eastern empire
Webizen - Emirate of Tehran

South:
mean - New York
jafale - Old Imperium
Iron - Peoples republic

ofcourse correct me if im wrong.

I have no experience with this (also dont want the responsibility [:'(]) so it will be either you Web or Sail to organize our team.

@hatemf90: you may be correct but that order isn't what I discerned from the Dice Server email we all received. Maybe I'm having a senior moment here but I'm totally confused at this point. Guess I'll wait for the turn to get to me and then be able to ascertain teams.

I think the order followed in the dropbox folder is incorrect. Sailing guy sent his turn to hatem (OK). hatemf90 should have sent his turn to ironduke1955 (not to Meanfcker). That´s the order I received in the email. Ironduke1955 is the third in the list.

To revisit...

Nomic dice rolls and player order.
786 hatemf90
727 Meanfcker
545 Jafele
491 ironduke1955
462 Webizen
437 Sailing Guy

Turn order was set by the value of the random die roll returned from the Nomic server.

The turn order has nothing to do with the teams. The northern players will fight the southern players.

As far as I know you are the only one who has seen the map, so are the only one who knows the location of the players and thus the teams.

I think part of the confusion is based on misconceptions we may have had going in. I think most assume that the program will assign locations as follows...

Player 1 - Northwest
Player 2 - North
Player 3 - Northeast
Player 4 - Southeast
Player 5 - South
Player 6 - Southwest

But that's not what ATG does. It randomly places the capitols.

Based on what Hate has reported, 1-5-6 are in the north and 2-3-4 are in the south.

OK, think I got it now:

Player 1 - Nation A (could be any of six possible locations)
Player 2 - Nation B (could be any of six possible locations)
Player 3 - etc.

So as SailingGuy stated only hatemf90 would know player/nation alignment at this point and thus who makes up the two teams. So if hatemf90's post above is correct, we know who is who and on what team.

Player Nation/Turn Order

Top Team:
hatem - Japan - player 1
sail - Eastern Empire - player 6
webizen - Emirate of Tehran - player 5

Bottom Team:
mean - New York - player 2
jafale - Old Imperium - player 3
iron - People's Republic - player 4

Just to clarify a bit, this is the nomic order I received in the email:

# Sailing Guy -first listing
# hatemf90 -second listing
# ironduke1955 -third listing
# Jafele -fourth listing
# Meanfcker- fifth listing
# Webizen -sixth listing

Is this the turn order for dropbox or the team order?

At the moment the writing order in dropbox is:

1-Sail
2-Hate
3-Mean
4-Jafele
5-Iron
6-Webizen

According to Nomic, I consider Mean should be number 5 and Iron number 3. Am I missing something?

That's just a listing that I sent to the Nomic server to get results (so that it sends the same results to each person listed). Nomic does not sort the results, it only generates the random numbers and mails those results to everyone on the list. Based on those Nomic numbers, I sorted the names from top to bottom to determine the turn order.
