COMMANDERS ?

Commander - The Great War is the latest release in the popular and playable Commander series of historical strategy games. Gamers will enjoy a huge hex based campaign map that stretches from the USA in the west, Africa and Arabia to the south, Scandinavia to the north and the Urals to the east on a new engine that is more efficient and fully supports widescreen resolutions.
Commander – The Great War features a Grand Campaign covering the whole of World War I from the invasion of Belgium on August 5, 1914 to the Armistice on the 11th of November 1918 in addition to 16 different unit types including Infantry, Cavalry, Armoured Cars and Tanks, Artillery, Railroad Guns and Armoured Trains and more!

Germany has 3 Admirals at wars start, Scheer,Hipper & Ingenohl are all present.

Update Germany now has 4 Admirals available from day 1 off the war, Maximilian von Spee is included. Don't panic folks I will be adding more Admirals etc for other countries too.[8D]

Update Germany now has 5 Admirals available from day 1 off the war, Wilhelm Anton Souchon is now included.[:D]

This is what I thought the stock COMMANDERS GAME would be like. Have to admit, that I don't know anything about how to save my stock game file, to download your juicey looking MOD. Free advice is accepted!!!!

Oneotherthing, Just finnished a CP 1914 game (ended Apr. 1916), yet there were Commanders, that met all the requirements to enter into game play, but never did, or they only entered years after where they should have, was befuddleing to me. Is this issue the same in your MOD?

I have had the same problem with no show commanders in the game from the first time I played, another thing I could not understand, was how many commanders that should have been included but were not, so this mod will fix all that, I'm still at an early stage off adding these, but if anyone would like to use them in game now, they should not negatively affect any scenario's. Adding commanders only really affects 3 data files, the commander graphics file, the language file ( only in English at the moment ) and the commanders script file. I can make available all that have been added too or edited at the present time, plus any new commanders that I have still to add, will be complete new ones, and they will be added below the current number of 54 commanders. So the next one will be in position 55 etc !

UPDATE CLICK THE LINK AND GET YOUR NEW COMMANDERS !

OK link available, all the above new commanders will be available for you to use. Anyone can use these, they only changes the commanders in game, Please backup your Commanders graphics file, your commanders script data file + English language file. Once you have backup these files, delete the originals from your game, and replace with these 3 new ones, and that's it done your ready to play with new commanders enjoy.

Commanders; It seems to me that the first Russian general that should be made available is Yudenich (# of kills), instead of Evert (hydrodermic artillery). Yet the only commander on the Russian leader screen is Evert, making it impossible to have Yudenich to deploy when qualifies. Tying generals/admirals/pilots to tech advances falls flat as far as I am concerned...Especially in MP....

I will be adding more new Commanders for all major countries, in my mod all tech links are removed from all commanders, I have never heard of such restrictions, its just a lot of gamey nonsense rubbish, Commanders will be available when they were available in history.I also hope to convince the powers that be, namely the game designers to put an end to this gamey drivel.[:@]

I have looked at the scripts for the commanders in the game, and 24 out off 49 commanders are scripted for the year 2000, meaning they are unlikely to ever appear in a game, given that they also have tech restrictions, and number off kills to achieve before activation, all I can say is the game designers got this aspect off the game totally wrong please fix.[:-]

This is exactly what I am talking about!

Hell! How are we to know who all these 49 commanders are? It seems that whoever designed this game, spent more time trying to Strangle Commanders into oblivion.

Many times, I am forced to give up a "lab" (one and only), (just to survive. So the general on the "Leader Screen" (that needs the tech), stays frozen, even though over time, other generals meet the required "green check marks" are kept in a kind of purgatory, for no other reason, than poor game design.

Russian pilot Yanchenko. At the present time Russia has 3 Generals, 2 Admirals & 2 Fighter aces ready for action by the time Turkey joins the war, these are the ones that come with the game, but were blocked from appearing due to the stupid restriction employed by the game, I have changed that, all that is required now is either for Russia to be at war, or be at war with a specific country, this formula just does not get any easier to apply.
