What is Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm (FPC:RS)?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

@Basb - It is variable based on your command state, but between 10 to 60 minutes.

So what your saying is, the turn cycle can be interrupted according to your skill as a commander? EG the more skilled the commander is, the more command points and the more orders a commander call issue in an hour?

@BASB - ok, not interrupted. Based on the integrity of your command network (ie having functional subordinate HQs) and enemy jamming levels and a sprinkling of other factors the amount of game time that passes can vary for both sides.

@grosbil - Beta. Yes. Still working on scenarios and balance testing etc. Still squashing minor bugs and thrashing the combat model to make sure everything is working as planned. We are targeting a late summer release as long as nothing major pops up for the team. Everyone on the team has had job and family obligations impact our schedules in the past 6 plus months. That stuff comes first.

We'll work on keeping everyone informed the best we can about the planned release.

JohnO,
Yes. In and around that area. MR can talk more to exact locations.

The game has scenarios/campaigns that cover, from north to south, the Fulda Gap to an area south of Frankfurt am Main, to the area just south of Bremen on the Weser river. A straight line distance of roughly 440 kilometers.

From East to West it covers from Fulda Gap to the Rhine River. A straight line distance of roughly 200 kilometers.

The only part of Germany from north to south that isn't represented is the area south of Worms, Germany on the Rhine River.

That was a bit misleading. The battle zone stops on a line of Worms, Germany on the Rhine River. Nothing south Worms is depicted in this base game module.

@ JohnO, I look forward to your playing it and getting your opinion on how you think it plays. It's been a long time since you reviewed my work and it should be interesting to see how my Cold War scenarios compare with those I've done for WWII.

Good Hunting.
