Problems - no way to represent gradual phasing out of elements, may cause huge dents in armament pool on switch date
My prior test evaluated a 4 step phase in of the '43 types.
My next test will be to move this back to the '41 scenario:
Add the type 95 to 96 upgrade path.
Add a PzIIIn slot to the '42a Panzer division.
Add a type 96 motorized rifle squad slot to the '42b Panzer division
Do not produce the 76mm Marder IIs. I put that production in 4 Lt Tank Destroyer Battalions. I changed the mobile division TOEs to point to the 75 MM Marder IIs and the 76mm Panzerjager 38s.
This version also restores the StuH42s to the Stug brigades and adds some Sturmpanzer units (a battalion and the old Sig33 companies).
Finally, I created "collector" units seeded with obsolete AFV types. These low morale support units appear with the idea that they will stay in refit mode and intercept any obsolete types that make it into the pool before they get recycled back to the front. This is the risky item. If the preferentially engine swaps these elements out even though the TOE wants the obsolete type, then the concept is doomed. The other problem in the test is the AI ignores house rules and will put them into action even at 20 morale.
AI verses AI is running and we will have some results in a couple of days.
I think this will at least get the German AFVs into the game.
