What is "Anti-Soft"... ?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

You can experiment with a tactics of having a single brigade or division attached to the Front HQ so that it would bring Front's SUs wherever it would go and fight, without having to reattach it on turn basis between front's armies. Downside is that leaders die too easily in this game, even 10 hexes behind the frontlines and I wouldn't risk Konev or Eremenko to get a regiment of heavy artillery into combat. Also, the front is usually so crowded there is no place to utilise a brigade, unless in reserves, and this is too random participation.

Also, remember that Corps HQs will soon be gone (and later you will get only a few Airborne Corps HQs) so it's down to armies/fronts that you have to divide your SUs. Armies do all the heavy lifting in this game.

Go for the 120mm Mortars when defending and Art XX when attacking. No finesse, no subtlety, just mass.

Il-2's of all models is your main counter battery tool. Bring a lot.
