It was a brief moment of success for the Chinese but I knew the Hammer and Sickle would fall pretty hard with no Germans Italians to fight the bear is loose and I am not sure if the Western Allies and Chinese can put it back in its cage but you have to try.
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

TASS reports, soviet buildup continues against Chinese. initial offensive was a success, but now more forces need to be brought forward, while time consuming our air forces will keep the Chinese at bay.
Soviets have concluded an alliance with Italy and Germany. While bombur is away, he has given me permission to take over his regime (Germany/Italy).

while portions of Mongolia have been captured, it is only a matter of time before the rest is brought back into mother Russia. enjoy your spoils while you can, the Russian bear has been poked and its wrath is coming......

Isn't it convenient that you run Germany and Italy too? LOL
Favoritism is alive and well here.

Germany----- attempting to stabilize the situation on the western front. With our new alliance with the Soviet's, comrade stalin is promising more troops on the western front.
Italy- holding
Japan- our new alliance with the soviet union is solely defensive, but will not tolerate any allied forces from encroaching upon our territorial waters.
Soviet Union- Tass is now reporting the movement of a large number of troops westward taking up defensive positions. Chinese theater, airstrikes continue with a major buildup of forces taking place for our final offensive against the Chinese hordes.
Turkish front is holding, with the slow but certain destruction of the commonwealth forces which are now currently surrounded.... armored forces are moving toward this theater as well.

Italy- holding
Holding?
Some turns ago Sicily was lost to Britain. Last turn Marseille was liberated by French forces after massive support by US ally. This turn (ok, this is played after Italien turn is done and therefore after Frank´s post) Genoa was taken by French units, again suppored by US. Italien army lost around eight times more infantry than France in the attack on Genoa. The supply center near Venice is down, Rome is heavily damaged. And British forces have crossed hte street of Messina and are standing on Italien mainland.
But all other Italien lines are holding, thats correct.

The Xinhua press reports The Peoples Republic of China reports glorious successes in stemming the Red Tide. In addition Mother China has its territorial waters threatened once again by the defeated Imperial forces of Japan. Who in breach of the solemn oaths sworn to the Chinese People of non aggression gives safe harbor to the perfidious forces of the sworn enemies of the Chinese People the Soviet Union.

I did not say Italy was doing great, I guess I should have said barley holding. The Italians are the weakest in the Axis alliance. The Italians are lost, just a matter of time or are they... There are reports of 2 major soviet armies moving into western Europe now.......

just a limited advance by weak forces, nothing more. As for our alliance with Japan, soviet forces are only there as a shield against the allies nothing more.
Tass reports 2 large soviet armies have crossed into Germany and headed towards the western front or is it the Balkans, ummmm cannot remember. Also the major buildup of soviet forces in the Chinese theater continues, with 3 more air groups arriving into theater, this now brings our air groups well over 9 fighter groups and 6 bomber groups or is it more or less.
Soviet intelligence has let it be known that we know of the Chinese tanks level 2, but once the offensive resumes, these will be just paperweights compared to the strength which is soon coming.....

The Xinhua press reports that a communique has been received from the Japanese emperor threatening dire consequences if The Peoples Republic should liberate the Mongolian city of Ulan Bator from the yoke of Soviet Oppression. The Chinese people reject this presumptuous meddling in Chinese affairs. And when the Chinese Peoples Army liberate Ulan Bator we shall test the bellicose sabre rattling of our warmongering neighbor.

The Xinhua press reports the soviet aggressors have utterly failed to pierce the defenses of the Glorious Chinese Peoples Army. The Soviets now stand helpless awaiting the inevitable retribution.
The Xinhua press reports the Japanese dogs have broken their solemn oath made to the Chinese people and declared war. Breaking a peace treaty with no provocation or reason other than the lust for conquest. This perfidious action shall enter the annals of history as a example to the honorable how far the dishonorable can fall.
Turn is with France, hope everyone had a great Christmas (or other festivity)
