It's a pity you cannot change the settings mid game for PBEM, because that might be the best way to offset the blizzard.

At 125 the Axis AI can stand its ground as early as January. Basically, the Soviet gets his shot in during December and then it becomes a brawl, as it should be. The 125 settings also prevent the horrendous deterioration of morale and the Axis can come back swinging in 42.

But you can hardly set up a PBEM with those settings as you will be stuck with them for the entire game and any adjustments made to compensate for the blizzard would be quite over the top outside that period. (Which is another way of saying that you really have to jack the game up to get the blizzard right.)

Because as it is, the blizzard is way overpowered in its own sense.

I agree. Maybe the Soviets should be limited to attacking with just one unit per hex during blizzard. I've just completed my first blizzard as the Soviets. What I find most silly is that even German units with level 3 fortifications have no chance of holding the line.

As I said, I'm trying to come up with some elaborate house rules to make the game work. Changing the logistics settings is also an interesting alternative.

The game is still fine for solo play, but you have to be very wary going into any PBEM match, especially against veterans who have cracked the system and have no compunctions of making it do whatever they want to do regardless of common sense or fair play.

Ehh. just pay attention to AAR's and you'll find out who is min/maxer and who enjoys a good game. I think your far too pessimistic about multiplayer. I'm in my second game and its another great game in the making. I maxed out air fuel and was still easily denied auto victory by sound defensive tactics.
