[FIXED B483] CMANO fails to start repeatedly AFTER prereq install

Now CMANO doesn't start, and will not start anymore (without rebooting).
Here is a DgDiag, even if I don't think it will be of any use.


(edit) When I try to reboot, I'm notified that CMANO is still running, even if I had interrupted it with the Activity Manager. After a forced termination and rebooting, all goes well.

That's happened again with B446: CMANO hasn't started, I interrupted it with Activity manager, when I rebooted I had to force the end of CMANO which apparently was still running.

Now I have B451 working. The start time is much much better!

Same problem, and in my case the game never launched, never : it says immediately that the programm "Command" does not answer.

My computer is a modern brand new PC, buyed in october, Windows 8 64bits, french langage, nothing installed except all updates for direct X etc... and Mozilla.
Launching from the starting window by clicking on "play", or equivamlently cliking on "Command" in game directory leads to the same disappointing result, "Command not responding" (in french) with a Windows black frozen behind, and the task manager saying also that the game is frozen.
Version 1.01 installed.

Nothing works to go beyond.

Any bug fixed yet ?
On a "Virgin" Windows 8 system, nothing can interfer...

Ok I installed manually the prereq direct X despite Windows claims my version is already better... and then it works, great.

So my advise it to ALWAYS force the game to install his direct X, even if Windows invites to skip this step by claiming it is up to date.

Could you please tell me if you have STEAM installed on your computers?

I did some experiments.

In my case CMANO starts almost every time if:
- I am disconnected from the network when switch on my computer (modem switched off);
- STEAM is of course offline;
- AVG can be on without problems;
- there's no need to run dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64 and DXSETUP.exe.

Hope this might be of some use to other gamers.

Yes, unfortunately I have still problems.

If I use the procedure outlined in my post 157, I can generally start the game; otherwise it generally doesn't start.

While I regularly play CMANO, believe me it's a pain, and it's the only case this happened to me in many, many years of gaming.

I hope you can fix it.

Since build 469 this is happening about every other time I start game. Have to reboot to get to start if it freezes at splash screen. It would sometimes before build 469 but now it is often.

I still have this problem, it takes about 3 attempts at times to open it. Every time it fails, I close it all down with task manager and try again. The only thing that I have noticed is that in task manager, it always fails to load around the 153000k to 155000k mark and I alway still have about 2gb of memory free so it cannot have run out of memory. If I get past that point it will load. This is with V1.02

Yes, it's the same and it's a pain.

Generally I need two or three attempts; sometimes it's necessary a reboot.

Prereq install is totally useless for me.

My Sistem Window 7 Professional 32 bit Service Pack 1 is up to date.

Apparently I don't have any Harpoon.ini file within the CMANO Cartella (I did a search).

The Command.ini file is regenerated but the situation is the same: sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't.
