Unless more Union troops arrive I should have enough men to reclaim area west of Saint Louis.

Probably due to high level of fatigue gen Keyes forces abandoned Island 10. Subsequent successful assault granted me possession of this valuable stronghold.

I didn't pay enough attention and Clarksburg defenders ended up attacking superior besieging forces. Disaster will speed up surrender, so Union forces will be spared winter attrition.

Finally Confederates encircles in Manassas broke the siege, but it was only possible because Aurelian withdrawn his main force. Has he stayed (assuming that his ammo level wasn't really low) game could have been over, because I doubt I would have been able to dislodge whole army.

I have to confess I haven't noticed it while surveying map.

Cracking fort-line will have serious consequences I fear.

Pensacola is being besieged, but relief force is on the way. Together with city garrison I will have 4000 men, what should be enough to contain threat for now.

Rolla's garrison held so I think I hold upper hand here.

Grant landed near Dover. For the first time I will face more skilful commander.

For some obscure reasons I moved single unit to Alexandria. Hard to comment on such stupidity.

Due to limited forces and problem arising in Tennessee I limit my activities to keeping Aurelian on his toes.

Fleet is moving towards Dover to limits Grant's movement.

More and more troops are being gather to contain threat to vital fortress. So far I am really struggling with coordinating my counter-attacks.

I chased away remnants of Union forces previously besieging Charleston. Without supplies Aurelian's army simply melted away.

Further in the north Clarksburg is being "held" by 10 men, 4 horses and cannon.

Army of Potomac approached Alexandria with intent to dig in on front of the city. So far so good. Once position is established I will employ flanking manoeuvre by Army of Shenandoah.

Invading army was beaten back and is now being chased. Unfortunately due to my incompetence I didn't tick "move by rail" box, so instead of 1 my forces will cover the distance in 24.

Very bad turn overall, even T Jackson didn't particularly distinguished himself (although I have to add, that only supply trains participated in combat - my fault).

Further east yet another failure. My coordination is still poor, but I feel I can not afford luxury of proper preparation. Grant's forces at Dover managed to create 2 breaches and fortress is about to fall soon.

Clarksburg has fallen. Regaining any foothold in West Virginia is far beyond my reach now.

This is the turn when I finally got the message - posture change in enemy's region if he control's it and keeping armies in cities is bad idea.

Hopefully another defeat at Alexandria will teach me something.

Situation is rapidly deterioration. Loosing Fort Clark is not an option. Troops are on the way.

Despite harsh weather conditions intensive fighting takes place in the west.

Yet another suicidal attack on Grant's forces besieging Dover was undertaken as a preparation for main assault - Albert Johnston with 11500 men (cv 579) will test his luck next turn.

Further west T. Jackson undertakes successful raid at Cairo. His success keep me alive here.
