I can connect but as soon as I click on a player it disconnects me. "lost connection to netplay".
I'm also running 1.03.

I also have no connection to the Netplay Server, the same error messages as WIFinToulouse.

I don't know if it helps but i saw this error message

Image
I can't reproduce this.

The warning message simply means that there are no entries in the Seeking Opponents table. That's also obvious because the table as shown is empty. It is also confirmed because of the other message about being unable to access the Seeking Opponents database.

But why you, and others, are unable to access the database is a mystery. I am able to access it from two different computers (with different serial numbers). I also am able to access it using both my development version and my exact copy of version 1.0.3 that customers are running.

---

It's time to gather some more data:

I If you do not have this problem, please post a reply here. That will let me know if the trouble is universal or just happening for some players.

II If you do have this problem:
1 - Have you ever been able to connect to the Seeking Opponents database? Then I can judge if this was caused by Update changes.
2 - Please start a new game, or restore a saved game, and use the Help drop down menu for About the program to confirm that you are running version 1.0.3. Just to reassure my troubled mind.
3 - What operating system are you running?
4 - Does anyone have any other ideas?

I'll have the Matrix folks make some more tests using their systems.

2 started a new game, version 1.0.3 confirmed (had the issue with 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 also)
3 Windows 7 (edition familiale premium) / SP 1
4 unfortunately i'm lost with this issue sorry

Thank you for the offer, but that's outside my area of expertise. However, someone from Matrix technical support may take you up on your offer if they can't figure this out.

Hi,

I registered for net play 2 days ago and had no issues,I saw the player database and figured everything was good.

Now I can see the player database but after a short time with it up I get an error. This error then forces me to log in again. Also when I try to respond to another players posts, I type a reply and then hit seeking opponent reply and I get another error.

This is all with version 1.03, also its not documenting the bug reports because my report is still dated November 14th.

Hi Steve,

EDIT: OH forget what's below, it's actually the right port, was looking wrong....that's what I deserve for trying to act smart.

I don't know how netplay forum works but I looked a bit at what is seems to do (on the network)...are you sure you are connecting to the right port for the player database. I'm just guessing from what I see from the network packets where it looks like MWIF.EXE tries to connect to a server (after requesting a list of servers from 'games_exhange') and the ports returned there are different then what MWIF tries to connect to. Dunno...maybe it helps, I'm probably all wrong.

Can you give me a fixed set of things to do to create the error(s)? I have tested a bunch of stuff, different combinations of doing this or that in the forum with everything working. But there is clearly something still amiss if you can get started in the forum and then later run into trouble.

If I can reproduce it, I can fix it. Otherwise I am just wandering around aimlessly.[:(]

eager to help as much as I can. let me know if there is something I can do.
I already send many bug reports caused by netplay (through the WIF bug report process).

I'm ready to test anything else as long as you tell me what to test ??
sorry my IT skills are quite limited.

I had it typed out then got timed out, so I sent it through by e-mail. it has an attachment with the screenshot of the bug error report.

Got it, thanks.

What I need to see is the second tab of the bug report: Call Stack. That tells me where in the code the program failed.

Can you somehow capture the whole Bug Report and send that to me? There is a lot of technical stuff included in the bug report that's sometimes useful when fault isolating the problem. I think there is a option to send it or to save it (?), or to write it out to disk(?).

What name does your email use? I just need the first name to be able to tie your posts here to the MadExcept errors we receive. The emails don;t show your forum name so it's difficult for me to know what's from whom.

No Gmail will not fix the problem.

You need an email client program like Outlook, or Mozilla Thunderbird connected up to whatever email account you have.

Shannon - I tried to send the bug report but it doesn't recognize my email account. When I click on "Seeking opponent - Reply". I receive this notice:
"The connection to the NetPlay Forum was lost. You need to Exit Forum and reenter."
I see players with postings, I see players currently on-line.
Can't send messages though.
Refeshes okay.
But the second I click on the Seeking opponent-reply it knocks me off-line.
