AGC: Infantry from 4th Army push through 2 lines of forts and Panzers from 2nd and 3rd PG’s ( 8 divisions ) punch a 30 mile wide hole in Kelblau’s lines and 12th Panzer destroys the 25 armament points. 19th Panzer cuts the rail line and makes a 30 mile wide stripe to really put a hurt on any withdrawal. Moscow is now clearly withen reach.

Kelblau remains behind the industy evac curve because of tring to save the front 50 industry and railing troops the first 3 turn.

AGS: The 6 panzer divisions from 2nd PG are released and head north, it will be 3 turns before the advance in the south can begin again. I should be able to complete Phase 2 and get the release of AGA with 1st PG.

Pelton, Kelblau is a beginner player. Using all your WITE skills against him, is not a great victory...

Pelton, Kelblau is a beginner player. Using all your WITE skills against him, is not a great victory...

For a beginner he is as good Bobo, bigbaba, hoooper, Kamil or Hugh and many others so far. So he is atleast average to this point.

Seeing I played 30+ games I can tell player skills as poor, average or good withen 5 turns.

The difference in player skills as SHC is really 4 parts;

1. turns 1-12 Kelblau is average
2. turns 13-17
3. 41/42 blizzard
4. summer 42
5. 43-45.

I base this on my past experience and the 100+ other AAR's I have followed.

I was a beginner my first 6 games, but won them all. The same can be said of MT.

Loosin before T10 Tula, Stalino, D-town is not an average game. Lelblau can't stop you. He will loose Moscov and Rostov, and perhaps Gorky on early winter turn. The guy is really beaten.
And Leningrad falls to.

vs Hoooper one of the best of the best I took Leningrad on turn 4

Stalino turn 7, Kharkov turn 6.

What I am doing SO FAR is really average for MT, Sapper and myself as GHC.

Kelblau unlike the poor players from turns 1-13 has SHC OOB over 4.7 million.

The cities lost and industry is average.

I am basing my opinion on past game experience vs poor, average and good SHC players.

The key to 1941 is Moscow, aka turns 13-17.

Kelblau clearly has the forses to defend it.

Calling other players "poor" is really a poor choice of words. Pun intended. [:D]

Why not just say that they are inexperienced?

At the start he had his forces positioned good, heavy in north and center and checker board in south.

But once I got the hook in hes been out of position some what, but no major pockets other then Leningrad. Which is a pocket for everyone, the question is how big?

He really not doing that badly so far, but the key turns are coming up.

AGC North: The 8 panzer divisions drive another 50 miles towards Moscow, air drops are made. Both HQ’s are only 16 MP’s from the railhead next turn. Not sure if I will HQBU or simply keep driving.

4 HQBUs done. Northern spearhead should be able to keep driving 3 miles per turn. The southern spearhead has to turn north and finish the job.

I am sure this pocket will be reopened for a turn, but should be sealed off withen a turn or 2.

I believe this is the quickest Moscow has been captured after 1.06.11 and also a record pocket.

It’s pretty clear that the major advantage a veteran has over a new player in this game is new players failing to understand how far the pnz can move, and what the effect of a fight is on the movement rate.

In the T12 screenshot you can see Kelblau is placing blocking forces to the South of Pelton’s North spearhead, and on the river North of the South spearhead. On T13 you can see the routed units that cost Pelton a few movement points and he brushed them aside.

Pelton your comments on this would be helpful, but I am guessing that without forts those single Soviet divisions cost you 3 or 4 mps from one pnz/motorized unit each. I think you had 8 or 9 of those units in the South, (no unit designations on the map posted.) Kelbau’s Moscow defense was undone T12, but he did not know it. None of his units were going to hold, they were only going to delay, and they were not going to delay very much, and the screen was only one unit deep.

I'll also point out that your headline is wrong, Kelblau clearly holds Moscow. Saper222 took Moscow from me T14 the best you can do is a tie.
