What is your favorite race and why?

i like focusing on research so either quameno (although i consider playing as them 'cheap'), kiadians or the zenox.

Good guy games I usually play as humans.

Bad guy games I like the Boskara, but with a self imposed house rule. The Boskara must declare war on anyone they run into except other bugs, enslave and penal colonies are mandated. No peace treaties allowed total conquest is the fate of all inferior races. Makes for a fun but tough game.

Great to see a variety of responses here. We've tried to make the races different enough from each other in terms of playstyle that there should be one for just about everyone. Of course with Universe you can also fully customize your own.

I've played every race in the game, but when I'm sitting down to just play for fun and not testing, I do tend to play the Humans, the Mortalens, the Dhayut, the Ikkuro, the Zenox and the Naxxilians a bit more than the others.

I wish we could start this thread over and ask everyone to include the government type they use with each race. Be interesting to hear everyone's thinking on that choice along with race selected.

Teekans i almost always play as a guild.

LOL, there are a few races that have a goal to spend the least time at and have the most friendly pacts.

i prefer to play as hive mind gov, or democracy. i pick a random goverment for races without a special government type.

After the Quameno with Technocracy, the Wekkarus with the Monarchy government are my second-favorite. [:)]

I'm really digging the Yl'Ta from the extended mod. They're currently my favorite. Usually run the Monarchy government, but Military Dictatorship is fun, too

Ah! Must have missed it somehow. Teekans are the best . I was disappointed they didn't have any special tech, but I suppose the mining and income buffs compensate? Maybe?

The Eva from human revolution. With matriarchal government they have a nice science boost AND a growth boost. The latter is even more noticeable after the latest patch.

Zenox are cats, they are just placed in the 'Rodent' racial group mainly because it makes no sense to have one feline race in a racial group all by itself. I do agree that the Zenox racial portrait does leave much to be desired, in that he looks like he is having a really bad fur day, although it still looks distinctly feline, if only due to the dermal and skeletal characteristics.

I have suggested they rename 'Rodent' racial group to 'Mammalian' to clear up the confusion.

I think the cat race is just pretending to be rodents so they can get closer to their prey before pouncing on it.
