In the center all is quite:)

In the south I am concentrating on the infantry, and there seems to be alot of it:eek:

Scheisse!!

Zip too large....sending that direct....

I think I made a big error in my purchases.....some how I managed to purchase from the list of drooling retards rather than the standard troops. These dudes could not spot sh*t if they stood in it. They have been watching silly men dressed in green with guns walking up to them and have rarely decided to take a shot back. Even in defense stance and not moving, these yahoos are being spotted all over the place, yet they seem to all have helmets that are too large and cover their eyes.

Enough whining. I feel better.

Northern forces give a little pain back - wolverine, M4, couple of jeeps, couple of 1/2 tracks and several infantry squads and a bozooka team destroyed.

I think my original plan of pushing through the woods and the US line to harass the US backside is not going to work.....Viking had better defenses than I thought he would up there so far from the vh. Good move.

Had to do something though - he held all the objectives and had the better ground and would of just picked me off one by one. that or driven my forces back by pushing his swarm of "gnats" (recon patrols, At inf, mg's) continuely forward and that would of been just plain embarassing.

I am now finding myself with some tough decisions to make in the next couple of turns......

Looks sort of like the beginings of a US counter offensive. His forces struck back in the north more than any point so far in the game, and there are units advancing forward in the center - half tracks and M15 / M13 AA units so far. Picked off an M13.

Southern forces continue to swap fire.

Us rangers are popping up here and there. Annoying little bas*ards.

I killed a Tiger too!
Brought him right in to the sights of a Wolverine.

Big push for the northern vh. Infantry mixing it up in the woods.

Center, Ge forces getting pounded by advancing US units.

South, destroyed a recon squad.

Rangers have popped up in several locations. They can see it all now.... Not that there is much left to see.

Maybe taking an aggressive roll in this one was a REALLY bad idea....I think I see the writing on the wall......

Sent turn direct...

In the north, GE forces regroup and take the northern VH cluster.
Fighting in the woods is still nasty. 3 ht's and a dukw are destroyed. Infantry swap fire.

IN the center, US forces look like they will be pushing my off the vh. Never had a good grip on them anyways.

In the south, infantry are mixing it up a bit.

Reserve units locate and destroy a ranger squad that has shown up by the rear GE vh. Knew they were there and have been looking for them for a couple of turns...

I retake the norther Vhexs, killing a aromored car and a halftrack pushing back several infantry unit and destroying some.

I the center 5 or six halftracks loaded with engineers and rangers swarm Two Tigers and a that big monster with the 88 on it. Destroying one tiger and the monster, leaving the infantry very open to counter attack:D :(

In the south all is quite:eek:

Ugliness is still the word of the day in the woods. Ge forces puch back US infantry and destroy 2 wolverines, 2 ht's, a 60mm mort jeep and a 50 cal jeep.

Viking most certainly did leave himself very vulnerable to take out my tanks.......and he will be rewarded for it since there is not much that can be done about it other than drop some token arty on them. He swarmed with AUX units, so at least I know I scared him enough to get reinforcements. I have done the same a couple of turns ago and they are now getting in place....although I highly doubt it will be enough to do anything.

I screwed up from the get go in purchasing (always a risk with Ge) - I went offensive heavy hoping to bring the battle to the wide open spaces were the better german armor could be used most effectively. Viking has taken that away with smoke and blocking my push to crash through his line with an excellent defense. He has managed to hold back 2 plattons of Panthers, 2 of Panzer 4g's. a mech inf company and various supporting recon and aa units with few at guns, infantry, mg's, scout teams and a handfull (reports estimate a company strength total) of wolverines that he has used superbly.

So, now I find myself on the defensive with mostly offensive units.....shall be interesting in the least!

The Bloody Woods

Post by VikingNo2 »

The Northern woods have more twisted metal than trees, Wolferines with gaping holes in them halftracks scorched and burning. Tigers lifeless and smoking Panthers with crews screaming as they burn in place, US infanrty chared and smoldering due to Greman flamethrowers, scores of German infantry mangled by .50cal and .30cal rounds.

In the North I push the German back once again, killing a Tiger 2 Panthers and two Pz-IVs, machingunning some infantry as well.

In the center mopping up German infantry, a lone Pz-IIIjs ( I love this tank) takes out a M10 and a Bazooka team:mad:  Its gets assaulted several times and finnaly dies!

In the south smoke

Turns in your box.:D

Sorry about not being to quick on the turn turn around (thats weird) rate.

I've spent the better part of this week doing family holiday obligations between the mrs and my families.

I need another vacation just to recover!

Next week will be better I promise.

And I will attempt to get this turn back to you over the weekend!

Oh yeah, stop killing my tanks.
I am starting to think you may owe me a rematch after this one...:(

digging in...

Post by TheOverlord »

Ge units begin to fall back, having given up any notion of controling any vh's and will probably be spending the rest of the game keeping US forces away from the GE rear vh. :(
Never a good thing.

Lesson: DONT GET TOO AGGRESSIVE TOO EARLY.

I know better than that but did it anyways. Oh well.

On another note, I have horrible luck with Panthers. They never hit anything, when they do they rarely kill it, and during op fire they always miss, even with 60+ % to hit.

Anyhow, Ge units are faling back into defensive positions accross the line.

2 us hts, a jeep and a 37mm at gun are dispatched. Infantry units swap some fire but not as much as previous turns.

Yeah, somthing about sitting in a Tiger gets me all fired up to charge in and do some damage.....

:D

Unfortunately, I did it too early. Way too early.
I tried using brut force to smash through Vikings at inf, mg, and recon screen to get at his meaty units behind the screen, but he was in some awesome postions and counter attacked. Chewed me up. For a while it might of gone my way, but my Panthers were not helping.

I should of bought all Tigers and Elefants!!

Not much cleaning up infantry, I know there are at least four Panthers, a Tiger some Paks and 88s still out there, as well as you AUX units. Rushing ahead without caution would be unwise
