You need to install the scenario, in its latest version. You can get it from the scenariobank :)

Thanks Ernie. Ironduke sent me the necessary files.

Generally when one does their turn they name the save as the next countries name and the turn number so you were China you woulkd name your save Germanyturnnumber.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

Also, what's the procedure for naming files in this? I played my turn as Chinese and posted the file back into the dropbox but I didn't change the file name in any way. Should I have named the file as the next participating player, as is apparently the usual routine? Who is the next participating player?

???

The only file that I can se at dropbox is turn 1 for Sovjets. Are we all using the same folder?

The only file that I can se at dropbox is turn 1 for Sovjets (GD1938-game15-turn1-Sovjets). You are sure you named it as turn for China or turn from China?

I case you have played your turn you should save it as GD1938-game15-turn2-Germany.

We all should keep this convention. Otherwise there might be a mess that would be time consuming to resolve or in worst case turns have to be redone.

some confusion here last login of jld89 was "last login 11/7/2014 8:28:00 am." i have not received a e-mail to add jld89 to the dropbox. falco played his turn as the chinese ? the turn in the game 15 folder, is the 1st soviet turn no password has been entered. if jld89 is no longer interested falco could take the soviets and we could find another player for the chinese or vice versa.

this message confuses me, as turns are played in sequence germany/italy/japan/soviets/france/united kingdom/usa/china you only play the chinese turn once the usa in this case larry has played his turn and changed the file in the dropbox folder to read gd1938-game15-turn1-china.

the file in the dropbox folder is the current game file when it changes the next player plays that turn by using the "load saved game" option on the game panel. it occurs that falco may not know that sorry falco this should have been explained.

Apologies on my behalf here. I believe I opened the Soviet folder. I didn't make any moves and I thought that was some kindof handicap the Chinese had on the opening turn (I now realize its because I couldn't make any moves because it wasn't my turn!).

Yes, I didn't know about the sequence thing. Again, sorry for my stupidity....lol

This game was launched as jld89 wanted to play this scenario but no slot in any game was free. Now he is the one who is missing and causes the delay.

I have to admit that I am tired of players coming along asking for a pbem but when it takes some days to launch a game they have lost interest and might have joined other games. I have doubts that those players are reliable. Gues they might loose interest when game does not run as successful for them as they expected. Those players cause delays and dont care that they keep others waiting. Or they quit and the game is dead.

Beside jld89 we are all reliable players here. So we might wait for two more days. But if jld89 wont drop a note within this time we should keep the team as it is now. Falco taking Sovjets would be a good idea. It offers more options on strategic level and tech tree. US player might take China, as usual.

Fine then we are looking for a Chinese player, Larry is fairly insistent that he would like the USA and China to be played by separate players. And to be honest the games are turning out better if they are separate powers allows the players to focus on the victory conditions of their particular power. Italy and France I am prepared to put money on the table and say these powers are never going to win a game of GD1938, if someone would care to prove me wrong then step up.

So if this is ok with Falco who will take over the Soviet Union. If you want to stay with China then let us know.

Either way one more player is required.

I'm happy with the Soviets and/or China. I've never played a PBEM wargame with more than 2 players before so this is a bit of a novelty for me....lol

If you are happy with the Soviets then the first turn is there to be played, if not we will wait for a player to take on the Soviets.

Completely agree with you. France and Italy as seperate parts dnt make much sense.

I would prefer to see China being played as own part. Hope we will find someone.

OK thanks jld89 for your e-mail address, I have sent you a invite to Dropbox the first soviet turn is in the game 15 folder, if you need to ask anything don't worry about asking. The first game will be a learning experience and the more experienced players will be aware of that and cut you some slack.

If you play the turn don't forget to choose your victory conditions you have options 1 to 5 the choices are cards in the decision room on the main game page as well as research DOW on minor powers etc.
I should have added that if you don't pick the victory option in the first turn the AI will pick it for you.
Once you pick your option keep it to yourself if you intend to stab another player in the back, don't hint at it just do it[:)]

If you want to know what the victory options are go to Statistics (F3) Brief then Victory, the victory conditions are laid out there.

Alright great I will play my turn later today. After I play how does it work? Should I duplicate the save and put the old one on 'old turns'? Did I understand correctly?

You use "Load Saved Game" browse to Dropbox game 15 open the Soviet turn password and play, after the turn is done save the turn replacing the Soviet with France (RufusTFirefly) who are the next country in the turn sequence. put the soviet file into the old turns folder leaving the France turn for RufusTFirefly. Then if you have time put some comments and screenshots in the AAR, if you have time.

Where is the scenario description for the victory conditions? I want to choose the condition but it doesn't tell me what each is.

Ok your choice is secret don't let anyone twist your arm into revealing it.

Screenshots for the AAR I tend to Alt-Print Screen, then I use "Paint(free with windows)" to convert to jpeg it also allows rudimentary alterations. Pretty basic some people have real skill in this area, just not me[:)]
