RE: GD1938 Game 15
I tend to just drag the file from downloads and drop it into the dropbox file, I stopped running Dropbox in the background as one less app for my struggling CPU seemed like a good idea. This is a long way of saying I have no idea what that message means, especially as I guess contrary to the message the file is transferred, so my guess is the message refers to something else.

RE: GD1938 Game 15
Sorry that is what I meant, the turn in the Dropbox marked Germany turn 5 is a Chinese turn. And of course look at it when you have the time, thanks.

RE: GD1938 Game 15
Damn. Sorry, I've been a bit ill for a few days and when I played the turn last night I must have forgotten to click the 'end turn' button or something. If you open a turn again with pbem protection, does it return you to beginning of your turn or where you left off?

RE: GD1938 Game 15
Not a problem, I am afraid you will have to replay the turn as nothing was saved. There will be a notification generated for other players that will be ignored by other players as this was a error.

RE: GD1938 Game 15
Ok, just finished playing my turn and ended it correctly. Is in Dropbox now. Everything should be good to go.

Axis May 1st 1938
The Soviet Union has invaded Persia giving them that long sought after Indian Ocean port that they have so long desired plus the huge Persian Oil resources. Japan makes huge gains in China treating the paper signed between the French British and Chinese with the contempt it deserves.
In Europe Denmark was assimilated into the German Empire, German troops being greeted as liberators in the streets of Copenhagen. Or so Goebbels tells me and he never lie's. Czechoslovakia was also invited to join the greater Germany pantheon, strangely they seem less than enthusiastic, the German army has been sent in on a hearts and minds mission we wish them luck.

Imperial Japanese Command
Staff Report

We made a successful attack on Yenan. The Chinese strength made other gains problematic.
The war has come to Europe and we wonder at the quickness and widespread nature of the conflict.
Here far from Yenan is a map of the lines in the south. The fronts in China are huge and her population dense.

Gee, I somehow managed to prove to the login screen that I was human.....a rare event for me (it did take 3 tries before I guessed correctly).
The American people REFUSE to give up their isolationism...in games where I am not the USA they seem to join in the first weeks 1938...But with my luck the USA will still be isolationist in 1945. I wonder if someone declared war on the USA if then the isolationism would end. But for now I will bide my time and wait for the eventual die roll that lets me do something besides build up my country war making abilities. I can only change the odds by 1% point per turn so I have poor odds to come out of isolationism anytime soon. And that assumes I spend the 60PP to reduce the odds by 1% every turn...perhaps I should just not spend anything to come out of isolationism and just spend the PP to build up the war making capabilities.

Why would you want to go to war. People get killed.
Nasty stuff.
Stay quiet and make money, the American way.
I will gladly place an order for some nice war materials.

RE: GD1938 Game 15
USA is too weak in the beginning, imho.
Where and how do you want to fight? There are enough transports to ship some ground forces, but there are far too few ground forces available. And how do you want to supply your troops in areas oversea? German subs in the Atlantic would kill all your supply and might even sink your transports and all reinforcements they carry. How do you want to provide some air cover for your units? Same situation in the Pacific. Japan would not sit asnd wait til you have shipped enough forces to Far East. But how do you want to clear the seas from Japanese navy? US navy is strong, but there is not sufficiant air cover once you are near to Japenese territory.
At game 14 we are playing turn 14 and I think USA is still not able to support the Brits, although German forces have crossed the Channel and Britain is in danger of being defeated. Best USA can do at the moment is to send supply, in case there is some need. Meanwhile I build factories to build up enough naval forces to secure my paths across the Atlantic and to build some ground forces for the war against Germany and Italy.
(But thats only my opinion. You might have ideas already where to strike. USA gets the option to declare war to any major power somewhen later in the game. In game 14 I have got that option somewhen around turn 10, if I remember right.)

<IMHO>
I think the upward curve of American power is one of the best things about the game. America was incredibly weak in 1938 and very strong in 1944. The fun is in getting to design a war machine.
In Game 11 the USA is matched against the strongest Japan I have ever seen. What a wonderful challenge this presents. On the European side we are the junior partner, but our strength is being felt.
This duality is just fun. I would love to play the USA again, or the Soviets, or Japan, or ...

Count your blessings USA. At least you weren't plunged into a hideous conflict from the very beginning like we Chinese. We are throwing everything at them that we can, but the demonic Nippon hordes keep advancing onto our sacred territory.
Nevertheless we are confident that in the end our noble nation will prevail, with help from some trusted allies.

Germans 1938 May 26th
The Soviets from the North and the British from the West, it does not look like Persian forces have a hope of keeping their country.
Europe the French have taken Stuttgart, and look like they mean to stay.
Prague fell to Panzer units of the 7th and 4th armies.
Hungary joined the Axis and Austria rejoins the fold.

Oops, The Germans got a post in before me, as I was walking the dog.
Here is a little picture of a pocket in China.
The Chinese continue to attack us vigorously, and there are so many of them. The corrupt Chinese officers are in
the western brothels of Hong Kong. The "close" relationship of the Western powers and the Chinese make the need
for our "Asia for Asians" crusade clear.

The German army have retaken Stuttgart with heavy losses for the French Interlopers. There was very little activity in other parts of the front, as resources were diverted to liberate German home soil.
