You mean choose between the person I had two lovely children with, the person that is my soul mate and has loved me through thick and thin and some hobby? The person who supports our family most in our time(s) of need? The person whose family I love (and she mine)? The person I would walk into a fire to save? The love of my life? My wife of nearly 19 years?

There is no choice here at all. Hobbies are fleeting pastimes. They aren't "life".

I'd trade my hobbies all in an instant with no regrets if it came to it.

Just wondering.

If you had to choose between an awesome spouse (by that I mean a great person, I'm not talking dumb cosmetic appearances), or all your hobby stuff (hobby stuff = not required to maintain your life of course), what would you pick?

I have probably more thousands of dollars in wargames than I want to think about.
I have even more thousands of dollars in other hobbies than I do in wargames.
Books are educational, so I think we can leave them alone.

I'd box them up and give them away in a heart beat for a good man.
No I wouldn't be thinking, 'that's unfair, unreasonable, too demanding' and I know some will respond like that.

The question is simple, what would you pick, being alone with your stuff, and for laughs, I will even make it a complete Matrix Games/Slitherine catalogue just to be nasty , or being alone with a great spouse.

My hobbies are not making me feel great as I try to get to sleep at night alone.

Interesting question. My partner or my hobbies? Well there's only one choice for me and that's my hobbies - although to be fair I am greatly assisted in making that choice by being married to a useless lump like Chickenboy.

I too can appreciate your desire to remain loyal through 'thick and thin'. Take my husband, Warspite1, for example. Please! Ha ha...[jolly good pleasant English laugh]...

No seriously, I have two wonderful children with my husband Warspite1 as well. But I mostly find that I've stayed with him through 'thick' rather than 'thin', I'm afraid. The lard-ass won't lay off the crisps, chips, biscuits, choccys and other treats. His active calorie-burning pleasures have been supplanted by idly staring at the WiTP:AE manual and mumbling that he's (again) too much a 'thicky' to understand this fine game and all its nuances.

Still, I wouldn't trade him for any other spouse in the world. Unless Brad Pitt is single again. Do you know if Brad Pitt is single again? Gotta go...

Meanwhile had the subject been Jenna-Louise Coleman and Mrs Aurelian who was asking the question, you would have been expected to respond er... diplomatically, with great tenderness and feeling and er... well, basically lie - assuming of course that you wanted any dinner for the next 6 months [;)]
