they try and put more men into the hole, but i soon plus the gap then go after those who got through

i move both the left flank reserves and push down from the right hand side of the fort and try and pinch out the troops in front of the fort in one mass attack, while the defenders of the fort hold

1st unit to break my lines surrenders after it get too hot after a few of my units attack it repeatable

my line starts to move of the right hand side of the fort while the left flank also starts it's pincher move

as the claws of a crab slam shut, i catch there guns to far out from infantry support and go for them, one by one

there extreme left falters and starts to crumble, while my right side troops from the fort move down 1 hex at a time

with the left now almost ready for a large counter attack and the right already on the move, next turn is D day for me

left and right moves together, the fort holds, what is caught in the middle either retreats or gets wiped out

now would be a good time to retreat there guns

but another turn and they stay put

i start to surround there units on the left flank and do more than double the damage, they will break soon enough

there units in front of the fort fall back, but there guns stay and help out the retreat, while it's not a rout, there guns are left too exposed so i change my plans of a pincer and go straight out for there guns and leave there infantry alone

there left collapses and the right is going my way

first gun is mine, and still the others move slowly back

with 2 more guns in sight, i try for both in one go, yes a gamble

and another one of the left break through units surrenders

with only one unit left that broke through my lines on the left, the right side of the fort has pushed the federal's back

at cost i capture another gun unit and damage the other one

i now see there reinforcements approaching so need to be quick before there numbers start to take it's toll

i've broken there line and attack and now start to hold and then pull back given ground only when better ground is behind me.
