P-40 as used by the Kiwis over Guadalcanal would be my WW2 Ground Support Aircraft of choice.

Any plane that can trash a coloumn of Tigers and a make the dreaded SS Panzers move by night is fine by me :)

The Typhoon had it all, rockets or a 1000 lb bomb and 4 cannons,below 20,000 the Fws had to watch out
