I still dream about having a WITP style Med game.

I am sure it will remain just that.

I still have the Med expansion for War at Sea that was published in the General.

Mounted the paper map and counters on cardboard. [:)]

Hoi3 is the worst of the series, Hoi4 can only be better than this. Plus I don't like the Paradox' habit to release new extensions instead of fixing outstanding bugs in the vanilla version.
The best of the older series currently is Arsenal of Democracy with CORE mod.

What is interesting is that the HoI III initial release was so bad, that Paradox actually has totally changed the way they made games. Their releases since them have been vastly better. Pillars of Eternity initial release was received very well as an example.

Plus they were planning to release HoI 4 on June 6th 2015, but actually delayed the launch by almost a year as they were not happy with the way the game worked. So given their current track record with releases and they never want another release like HoI 3 (and have publicly said so). I personally would have no problems buying HoI 4 close to release day [:)] Obviously opinions can differ [:D]

Forgot to add that Steam is having a Paradox weekend sale until Oct 5th 2015. So a great change to pick up some new (and old) titles cheap. [:)]

I played HOI3. I watched multiple fighter jet groups get completely, and repeatedly decimated by a single BF109 squadron over Cherbourg [8|] This with Fighter doctrine fully developed. Screw that [:-]

And what was the static flak level in the province?
I made exceptional effort to understand why one would try to deny existing fact and disclaim well documented history. I failed.

If this was directed at me, there was no flak. I actually invaded the peninsula just to kill the place, it had one reserve division in it. There were a ton of other issues I found after my invasion, but as a game it was once & done.

I played hoi3 multiplayer very extensively, even moderated one of the groups for a while. It was particularly the complete failure of their naval combat that led me to look for more detail and what got me started playing witp. The number of times that 12 CV went against another 12 CV and no carriers get sunk, was just too stupid.

But I am eagerly awaiting hoi4. I share all of the doubts about paradox releases but also acknowledge that paradox seems to have upped its game and have revamped their naval combat. I am cautiously optimistic.

I really like that will have actual convoy ships versus magically transporting stuff that just as magically can get sunk [:@]

Steady on, the claimed to fix the convoy issue with HOI3, yeah, it didn't happen. Take all their promises with a lot of salt.

Well if you take a look at the Naval video diaries, it looks like they are trying very hard to get the naval system right this time around. My confidence level is pretty high for this being finally addressed based on these. Plus the delay of the release.

I have. I hope they get it right but I do not share your optimism.

Understand [:)]

But it will be different so may be that will be enough to make it better [:)]. Otherwise it will just be different [:D]

I do agreed with the naval engagements that doesn't feel right. Hopefully this one will be more accurate than previous series.
