If it's not clear, Crossroads' black silhouette unit icons will be elevated from mod status to become an officially supported, built-in game Option, beginning with ME 1.01.

Interesting convergence here with the counter style in the "Flash point Campaigns Red Storm" game. Wonder how feasible it would be to add directional arrows to the counters as has been done there ?

Really like the way that the Campaigns Series is being developed now.

Keep up the good work.

We don't refer to other games when deciding what to do with the CS, honest! (Well, TOAW inspires us a bit, to be honest. [;)])

How to do on-counter unit stats was a matter of intense debate within the Dev Team, unresolved until just recently. We are still undecided how to handle facing.
Really like the way that the Campaigns Series is being developed now.

Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it!

Yes, consider my mods an Open Beta of a sort please.

I will get the Black Unit Profiles mod out, but while doing it I want to experiment having for instance Leaders with Org Level markers as HQs have. You might have observed all HQ counter icons have the corresponding text (Btln, Regt, Bgde, ...), I want to extend this to leaders too. Might also experiment with ditching the text and putting a symbol in place also, to allow for easier scaling of icon sheets to various zoom levels. So likely II for Bn, III for Regt, X for Bgde, and so forth. So I want to take some time with this to consider my options.

Nah. I will bide my time regarding the new version. The Black 2D Unit Profiles mod now includes all three 2D views where icons presented. This is a quick 'brute force' version, for I have removed details such as text that does not scale well, but would have required manual editing on all icon sheets.

Let me know if you spot anything erroneous, was a quick hack for I had a few hours available for this today.

The yellow counters just beautifully done.

Blue counters (nato symbols) do not look as finely rendered. Almost like they're a little pixulated compared to yellow. How long till we get to try these out. Nice work.

I will revisit all counters for 1.01 to ensure especially the darker ones are a bit more light, perhaps with a bit more gloss for that proper polished just-out-of-the-counter-sheet crisp look. Israli counters are likely to become a bit brighter, as they are a bit matte at the moment compared to others. Let us see. [:)]

Thank you. The heavy set armor icons have bothered me for the longest time.

With each play the counters should get more 'worn', and if the player amasses enough victory points, a 'new' counterset can be 'won'. [;)]

Seriously, amazing work on those, very much reminds me of playing PB and PL when I was wee tot. [:)]

Vietnam first though.

So please be patient [;)]

Vietnam? While I agree that the war is very interesting, I have never thought that it makes a good hex and counter wargame. I would much, much rather have WWII, even though the war is already saturated gamewise. It is still the most enjoyable war to simulate in a game, in my opinion.

Your be surprised how well it works for Vietnam. We've been developing this at the same time as Middle East.

While you're not going to experience a lot of armour clashes, there is ample scenarios to depict the various actions of the three major conflicts in the time span we're going to be covering.

After which, we'll return our focus to world war 2.

I'm looking forward to the vietnam game, just for the different types of missions possible and more helicopter stuff. [:)]
