Thomas Jackson - "did you ever have issues leading men into combat as a devout christian?"

Harriet Beecher Stowe - "did you anticipate the effect your book would have?"

Janis Joplin - "how bad were those blue pills at Woodstook?" and also "Kris Kristoffersen, really?"

Churchill - "did you ever doubt during WWII?"

Quisling - "what the h**l were you thinking?" and also "why are the doors and pathways in your "palace" so small?"

Princess Diana - "would you still have married Charles, knowing what it would bring?"

Me - "sorry for the take-out, but I am a lousy cook"

Thanks terje - you have one more guest

I had to look up Harriet Beecher Stowe. A book to put on my reading list I think [:)].

If you could invite seven people to a dinner party - who would they be, who would sit next to who and why would you invite them?

My guests would be:

Hannibal Barca
Cleopatra
Æthelflæd
Mehmed II
Isabella I
Tokugawa Ieyasu
Catherine II

I would sit at one end of the table so I can easier see my guests. At the other end I would place Hannibal Barca since he was born first.

I would then begin discussing what optional rules they like or dislike and what nation they prefer in the upcoming game of MWIF.

See, I would focus my table conversation differently. I would assume that these historical figures could be brought up to snuff on current affairs and discoveries since their time.
warspite1

I think that is my historical bent coming into play. I am more interested in knowing what happened in the past and why, and yes, seeing their reactions as they are brought up to speed on things. Henry VIII and his daughter could be a delightful moment.... or not. She was Anne Boleyn's daughter - did that muddy his view of her? Equally the mess that splitting the church made! That would be priceless to see whether he would feel remorse at such a high cost for his wish for a son.

But that is the beauty of this - it's your dinner party so you are in charge [:)]

We might get around to play Civ IV later on. But first up is WIF and EIA. Then Diplomacy and Civilization (boardgames).

Indeed. But in our Diplomacy games I must be more careful of her charm.

I think that games and dinner parties go hand in hand. After my dinner party is finished and all the guests have gone, I hope to play hide the sausage with the waitresses.....[8D]

Civilization (boardgames).

So, it is an overnight party then, cause that game does not finish quickly [;)]

Thank-you. So what is your opening topic of conversation?

The Wolverhampton Wanderers: Leicester World Cup match of 1949?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ9myHhpS9s about 3 minutes in.

When did Coventry City last win the FA Cup?

Eva Braun - did Adolf really have only one?
Catherine the Great - did you ever get it on with Frederick the Great?
Mary Todd Lincoln - how was the play?
Mary Queen of Scots - did you write the Casket Letters?
Marilyn Monroe - why didn't you stick around?
