is the match over? its been a week since last move posted
RE: Tourney - Rd 3 - Seminole v LiquidSky
Yup..its all over. Pelton won. [:'(]
Actually, I just finished turn 3 for the allies.
That means for the end of turn 3, the score is:
Seminole-Axis: 277 vps, Liquid-Sky Allied: 213 vps.
LiquidSky-Axis: 346 vps, Seminole-Allied: 90 vps.
I attacked the lead Italian panzer division in front of Kasserine in hopes of putting more pressure on Kasserine, but it failed at 1.6 - 1 In a fit of rage, I foolishly attacked Kasserine losing at 1-1.5 The only good thing to come out of this turn is the losses were somewhat even vp wise.
That's what I get for doing my turn right after a 12hr night shift. I will sleep before I do my Axis turn 4.

The axis are more straightforward to do.
Basically my whole game plan from the beginning is to take what objectives I can (Gasfa, Sdid Bouzid, and Kasserine) and then hold them until the end of the game. After turn one move the 21st Panzer to the north to protect the northern supply depot, and use the 10th panzer regiments to guard the south one. But be prepared to move them back to protect the all important victory hexes.
The Germans win by defending.
This turn (Turn 4) I cut off another push in the north, but I didn't have the movement points to rout them. So I pulled back and formed a line. I suppose he can break it if he wants, but there are no victory points in the north, and with only 2 allied turns left he has to isolate me now to get an effect for turn 5.

match finished? abandoned? to be continued?
RE: Tourney - Rd 3 - Seminole v LiquidSky
We're on turn 4 in both.
I'm the laggard. I took a new job in the same outfit, and am basically working two jobs until the old position is filled so I've scarcely had anytime for gaming. I'm positive LS is going to win both matches, but want to play them out to the best of my ability to complete the AARs.
AARs might not be posted soon, but I've gathered plenty of info and all rounds will get the full treatment.

Its okay...I am not in any big hurry. I suspect that I wont win both games though....I think I should win one, but draw the other one.

that's all you need tho
RE: Tourney - Rd 3 - Seminole v LiquidSky
I've finished turn 5 as the axis, so nothing more I can do there. Pretty healthy lead, which I should keep.
I've finished turn 4 as the allies....going to his last turn as the axis. Rather then attack Kasserine, I decided to envelop it further to put more units on it. Sitting with 2 American infantry divisions, 2 French infantry divisions and a smattering of armour units and misc. others. If I take it on the last turn, I will get a victory. If not, it could be close.

I know Seminole was busy; but what is the status of this game?

Last I heard, Seminole was at the hospital expecting the arrival of his baby son very soon. That was two days ago. Hope all is going well. I will be speaking with Erik on Tuesday about giving out the prizes for the tournament to those waiting. Hopefully Seminole will be able to finish the games in the coming days/weeks as I know I'd like to see an AAR and see the final situation. I'm sure there are many others interested in seeing this as well. Sometimes real life gets in the way.

It must be the first...when my second child arrived I was much more relaxed. With the first everything seemed to be a blur.

Everybody has interesting birthing stories. With our first child she was overdue so they induced labour and then discovered that she was a breach. So they rushed my wife to another hospital for an emergency C-Section in an ambulance while I tried to keep up in my car. Second child was a 10lb VBAC (vaginal birth after C-Section) and had his umbilical cord tied in a knot. 3rd child was born 30 minutes after we got to the hospital and only 2 minutes after the doctor arrived. Can't say I was too relaxed for any of them.

Can report that everyone is home and doing well.
Lil man was a little early. Just over a week ahead of time, but momma and baby both home and doing well now.
2nd time around for us, but not as prepared as the first time around on several fronts. Coincidentally took on a new position recently (in newborn screening) and have been burying myself in old responsibilities and new while getting up to speed on mission critical systems I'll be responsible for.
I had three ongoing campaigns that I hadn't even logged into since mid Jan. Is it possible to revive these games so I can check if my opponents are interested in continuing? My fault for not checking in on them and re-saving, but I just didn't think about it.
I'm home for another week and hope my life can resume some schedule including fun.

Take your time and Enjoy your time with the family. I've got 4 kids (three of them born at home) and the first few weeks after they where born are where some of the best of my life.

Congratulations and good to hear all went well. I see one of the Torch games is finished, and one is on the final player-turn.
As for the games set to abandoned, I'm checking with Matrix now to see if in theory they can be revived. I'll let you know.

The first game is finished. (Me as the Axis, Seminole as the Allies)
I had several advantages over Seminole in this game. The largest being family. My kids are bigger and I can send them outside to play in the freezing rain if they annoy my war. And my wife is/was not pregnant, so I didn't have to deal with any mid-war cravings.
You cant underestimate the power of family to a good war...look at Alexander the Great, conquering as far eastwards as he could to get away from his Mother. Or Julius Caesar invading Britain to pick up stuff for his wife from Harrods.
Another advantage is I had a rather rude shock in my first game when I discovered how strong the allies are. I realized that the best strategy for the Germans is to attack on the first turn, take everything you can, then spend the rest of the game defending. In all my games I made good use of the 21st panzer division in the north to stave off any attempts at taking my northern supply center.
If I had played Seminole first, he probably would have taken it and scared the bejezzus out of me.

Here is the final map position....on my last Axis turn, I pulled most of my units into a ring to protect the final VP hexes and any AA I couldn't move.

The final Allied turn for me. Score stands at 410 Axis/ 263 Allied. I'm guaranteed 400 more end game points and he will get 250 more if I just hit end turn. That would put the score at 660 Axis/663 Allied....A Draw.
If I can take Kasserine, I will get 100 more and he will get 150 less....putting the score around 770 for me and 510 for him...which should be a minor victory for me.
However, he cut off some of my army so they didn't get much in the way of supplies...the infantry are okay, but the armour is out of fuel.
I have a large intact airforce..morale is a bit shakey on the FB's but the bombers are raring to bomb.

After bombing 71 times on Kasserine and losing 10 planes in the process I have softened up the target as much as I can..
3 more Axis vps to 2 more allied.
Now I just have to try and rearrange the front a bit, and attach all the units I can to make this the best attack possible.

And......its over.
Attack Failed:

Final Score: 667 Axis to 665 Allied. A draw.
I could have won if it wasn't for those meddling Nazi's [:D]
