I have the editor and know how to modify stacking limits. I would need a list of bases and the new sizes for them.
I agree that some locations are too restricted.

Michael and I are chatting on this topic right now.

In having a unit upgrade, HOW does one set it up on the editor?

LCU Upgrades

Post by John 3rd »

Here is an American unit. I ASSUME that the delay (year-month-day) is the cue to it to upgrade to the newer unit. CORRECT?

The Delay field is the date the unit enters the game, The TOE Upgrade field denotes the new TOE of course,... the date it will upgrade should be determined by the delay date of the new TOE line - in this case the delay date for 2419

How about this for a 1943 SNLF Assault Brigade upgrade?

The unit becomes mores static and adds a slight AA capability.

Am bumping political points to 100 for each side. This allows more flexibility for the Allies and Japanese.

TOE's in the editor are kind of all over the place.
In the example below, 2396 has NO Delay date (as is common); the highlighted line 2397 has a delay of 43/12/01; below that 2398 has a delay of 45/xx/xx, so I think this illustrates that an existing unit that upgrades - should have a delay date set on it's TOE line - that can trigger the available upgrade.

Just went through and provided a 1943 update for the Atoll Defense Bn and Rgt. Did the same as the SNLF Assault Bde.

Changes and Tweaks

Post by John 3rd »

This BTSL Variant is going into Scenario slot 060.

Michael is looking at starting a campaign using it so the work can be slightly field-tested while I move over to the mammoth task of standardizing the database for Treaty--Reluctant Admiral--Between the Storms (Reg and Lite).

Here is what he listed above and these are the changes (listed in BOLD):

Possible changes b4 we start after I talk with John and get any input from you (things to take RHS from Allied perspective):
1) Increase PP to 100 from 60 RAISED to 100
2) Add the Assault Eng devices to infantry divisions (from RHS and only going to the Type "A" ID) Done for only Type A IJA ID
3) Make some of the Ind Eng Rgt into Assault Eng (2 per non-China Corps) SIX Changed to Combat Engineers
4) Add the Oscar ‘d’ models with the 20mm cannon that you get in RHS in Jan ‘42 (from RHS and has same stats at the 'c' models Interesting idea. It is added as a choice.
5) Look at the Assault ‘Bde’ Divisions to see what devices from SNLF/Nav Gds in RHS need to be added Provided updates to SNLF Assault Brigades and Atoll Defense Units (Bn/Rgt). Both upgrade on 01/01/43.
6) Increase supplies in China for Allies VERY NERVOUS here! Hate CHINA!!! Agreed to raising daily supply only at Chungking by 200.
8) Adding in troop and cargo capacity to warships CA and below from either Big B (different Brian) or RHS values

Really LIKE the utility of this option. Gives more options to the Allied Player. Is really only truly useful in the early months of the war for the Allies so we're adding it to OLDER Allied ships:

USA
Clemson/Wilkes gain 75-75 (Troop-Cargo)
Omaha CL 150-150

British
Admiralty S Class DD 75-75

Dutch
Admiralen DDs 100-100
Tromp CL 150-150

9) Have the current Assault “Bde” Divisions upgrade to a more defensive TO&E in Jan 43 Already detailed.

Some of these changes come direct from RHS. While the IJA changes are out of the scope of my Mods, these are interesting and come from a reputable Mod. In the spirit of experimentation, we'll see how they play out.

Interested in any comments you guys have.

Am willing to sit on the changes for a couple of days and get some feedback.

A note about RA8 and setting up a non-historical Dec 7th.

Please be sure to check the placement of Japanese fleets and units, especially the small invasion forces around Thailand/Malaysia. Some LCUs start off in different ports to the assigned fleets.

Why are the Para units placed in their starting locations - no aircraft to lift them anywhere. One of them starts on Pelieu I think...

I will try to go back later this week to give specifics.
Thanks to all for the hard work on the mod.
