ever thought of the next version of witp-ae and had this hideous fake 3d/real time graphics in your mind?

just say NO! even if you're 'under' 50yrs old! this game belongs to the 'nice and crisp' 2d universe of gaming - PERIOD!

Under 50 here too ... and yes to NO to 3D!

2D is PERFECT for the game mechanics.

Now, I wouldn't complain if in that 2D world there was fluid zoom (with increasing detail as one zooms in), and (this one is a biggie), we could move windows/dialog boxes out of the way, or type in coordinates to go to a hex

Nor, if push came to shove, if the combat animations were in 3D, maybe actually reflecting "moves" made by the die rolls ... c'mon: you too would want to see the those dive bombers push over into a 80 degree plummet while the flattop below heels hard to avoid the 6 torpedo tracks streaking toward her!

When TELCOs first started to add fancy features like call-forwarding to desktop phones, they gave us a briefing on the codes to use. The # symbol was called an "octothorp". Look that up in your Funk & Wagnall's! (reference to TV known only to geezers).

I'm glad someone feels (just) under 50 is still young! [:D]

I'm sorry to say that I believe most of this crowd would be a poor addition to the site. I think they would not have the interest or the patience for such an endeavor. You my friend may be the lone exception.
